Just catching up on Marty & Miller podcast. Miller still fully running with the Georges hates TJ narrative lol.

All signs point to TJ coming in meant Fred was leaving. Obviously Miller isn't catching on to what she meant by that

Why would anyone be underwhelmed by Coach Dana Altman? Really? The guy has been in the business for a LONG time and all he knows is WINNING! He recruits well, and is a terrific X's and O's guy. Offense is similar to Coach Hoiberg. Altman like Coach Tim Floyd has well structured, disciplined teams with a great focus on defense. I'd definitely be on board with an Altman hire. In fact, if memory serves he was a candidate after McDermott left.

What?!?!?! Altman leaving Creighton WAS the reason McD left ISU. Altman was never a candidate here.

Thought experiment... if you were a head coach, would you rather go a scenario where?
  1. you have a loaded roster year 1 with massive expectations, but the cupboard is potentially bare year 2
  2. you have a longer leash year 1 to make some adjustments and implement your system, and you have a solid core of underclassmen/recruits that you can build around or use as role players

I think most coaches making the change to ISU would be pretty darn happy with a potential core of Burton, Thomas, and Cooke for that 2nd year. Plus, I think most coaches would not be confident that Monte would be ready to go pro after next year and think they may have him as well. It's relatively bare compared to the 2015-2016, but still a lot better situation than a lot of coaches move into.

This "please don't abandon us" mentality is toxic. I'm not against an Otz type hire, IF it's for the right reasons: winning and advancing the program. Not the wrong reasons: because he would be loyal and not leave us. Heck Chizik left the FB program in a better position than loyal son Rhoads will. Stop thinking like a victim.

You can play the victim card with Hornacek too. Please hire him so that the fans are happy and the money keeps rolling in.

The arguments on this board over the past week or two have been lacking nuance. Everyone (pro-TJ or not - which shouldn't be the only two positions to begin with) is using exceptions to try to prove their case. "Wow, look at these guys who went straight from being an assistant to having a dynasty," for example.

Whether TJ is hired, it should be on merit and fit, and he may be the best person of available options. On the other hand, he isn't the only good available option, which a lot of posters seem to want to project also.

I don't know how this will shake out, but by jumping into positions built on generalizations we have this kind of useless dialogue that doesn't help anyone....I know, welcome to the internet.

The largest "pro's" for TJ is that the guy has relationships with the current players and he is a great recruiter. While that is great he hasn't ever recruited selling himself as the head coach... it's always been selling somebody else. His connections with the current players... don't the majority of them leave after this season? It sure seems like the 2 big "pro's" for TJ leave huge question marks in the future. Just saying...

Well team #hornyball is dead according to CW.

So if Underwood is a guy coming up from the Huggins/Martin coaching tree, does he coach a similar style? If that is the case, I can't imagine any of you guys hoping to see that style of play come to Hilton. Watching those teams is just downright painful.

This is a real tweet from Randy Peterson. Who works at the most prestigious newspaper in the state.

JFC. No one, and mean mean NO ONE, is expecting any of those guys. Or anywhere close to those guys. Cyclone fans have "reeled in expectations" to the point where almost everyone knows Archie Miller is coming here.

He is ******* unbelievable, isn't he?

I am intrigued who this 2nd "mystery brand name candidate" is? I got wind of Altman earlier yesterday but had not heard of anyone else. Hmmm...
