Go back one more year why don't ya and we win a BCS bowl game and finish 7th in the country. When's the last time you can say that? … I won't expect a response because there isn't one.
Like I said, Iowa used to be good, ya know 5 years ago.

Then we both agree we should just ditch the series and schedule different teams that can benefit both schools?
I wouldn't care if they did ditch it. Or maybe do like 2 games over 5 years, something like that. I know it is good for the state, but Iowa really doesn't need another rival, as we have Illinois, Wisconsin, Minny, and Nebraska. I get ISU needs a rival since they don't have one, but they will be fine without one really.
Does WI and NE know you are their rivals. I know NE has no clue of this.
Apparently you have higher expectations for Iowa than anybody, we're not a USC or Alabama but we can compete nationally every 5-7 years.
The game is important for both teams.
ISU needs to win the game to show to recruits and the outside world that there is something happening in Ames. Previously this game was a benchmark for ISU. It is still a benchmark, but nowhere near what it once was. For both schools it is a big non-conference game.
Iowa needs to win the game to maintain the vision to recruits and the outside world that all is well in Iowa City and they control their "turf". Fry did make the game a huge emphasis and used it in in-state recruiting.
For either fan base to say this game isn't important is empty headed. The significance for both teams while different is huge to retention/capture of the landscape in the state and region.
This year the game is huge for ISU as it is 0-2 and while close last week are still 0-2. Starting the season out 0-3 is abysmal and will compromise sales, concessions, etc. It is important for Iowa as their schedule is so weak that they have a legitimate chance to impact the national championship landscape if they win this game. Huge prize at stake for both teams.
However the game goes, I for one don't plan on eating any **** on Saturday. That's disgusting.
It just means I don't plan on eating any feces on Saturday.Does this mean the Cycones will be 1-2 in your mind no matter the outcome of Saturday's game.
No trying to be funny, I do think the Iowa game is one of the easier games we'll have this season. They looked absolutely pathetic their first two games. The whole BIG has.

Please tell me how "provide me with something I've said in this thread that you disagree with an actual argument,..." makes sense? If this post makes no sense to you then there's no hope for you.
I know the hatred here for the Hawks but I'd trade records with them no matter who the opponents were. The big 10 is down now and the big 12 is strong. It hasn't always been that way and over time it will change, it always has.
I guess we have to talk conference smack right now until our team has the winning records. I don't get much talking smack when we're 0-2.

That doesn't even make sense. This game is more important to ISU and they focus so much on it but yet they're 7-2 the week following a victory in their last 9 wins against the mediocre Hawks. Iowa hangs up ISU posters for the game and my sources have told me Iowa started prepping for this week after the UNI game, hence why they looked terrible against Ball State

Posters.
