I am a teller for a bank in Ames, and one of the owners came in on Monday with all the coin and money from their west store. The closing came as a surprise to me.

This plus chilli, plus a frosty is pretty much the nuts for fast food.

Not sure about anything else on their menu though.

Exactly. I avoid South Duff at all cost most of the time.

Three orders of their 5-piece nuggets was a nice pre-drinking snack for me. I would usually have them all gone before I was even halfway home.

And yes, the spicy chicken sandwich is worth it.

Getting in & out of any parking lot on Duff is a colossal pain...at pretty much any time of day now.

Hope they can get something else in there quickly. The McDonalds up the street was just rebuilt, so they must think there is a market in the West Ames.

West Ames area near HyVee has been in need for a huge renovation here lately. Nice to see McDonalds rebuilt, but with Wallabys moving and no WestCyde Wings, that area is moving downhill fast.

Or just getting rid of the competition for somebody else to step in.

Much of the problem seems to be deferred maintenance and not making improvements, particularly with Wallaby's which may have just been anticipating a move to Somerset.

There is still Indian Delights which I think is a fantastic restaurant.
