This season is over with as far as achieving any of the goals the team set at the beginning of the year. So if Rhoads has any thoughts of canning Mess, why not just do it now? It only gives us more time to get this thing fixed. Why wait any longer?
When we started the game with two running plays right up the gut for no yards, I knew it was over. All game long we were in 3rd and longs. That's no way to win a football game.
Only in the end, when we had no other option but to open it up, did the offense do anything at all. Even my wife wondered why we didn't throw it more the rest of the game when we couldn't run it at all.

Would be nice but wonder if he would come here. Not much upside for him. Most likely, new OC would be guys on staff.
Look mess is not the right fit, but point the finger at who is running the ship. He manages the program and makes the coordinator hires. I would hate to see Rhoads get **** canned cause of an inept offensive coordinator. Sorry no points in the first half are you ******* kidding me!
Our offense should be the strongest part of the team this year. Since mess. has taken over they are getting worse by the game. He is the CEO of the offense and he must suck!!!!!!!!
And the scary thing is... this isn't even a good Iowa team. They are bad. Any kind of offense at all tonight and we win this game because our defense wouldn't be gassed all night.
Iowa will likely beat Western Michigan, but after that, I wouldn't be too confident in them winning another game after that.
Mess was a bad hire and is a complete fool. Given a completely healthy team he would have screwed it up anyway but...the O line is a total mess you got two good linemen out with knee injuries and you are on your 3rd string center. Your QB couldn't run AT ALL tonight and yet you had to play him anyway, which means, you can't run the zone read at all. (Not a zone read guy but to not run it at all doesn't help ISU.)
I still can't figure out why Wimberly is not getting the ball more, need to figure that one out. Also, PR needs to get a big, downhill running back. Enough of these smurf running backs.

I think the defense improved, but when playing pretty much the whole game guess what? You get gassed, our offense has been the problem now for awhile and its a ******* shame.
Agree. Wimberly definitely needs more touches IMO. And I'm almost wondering if we need to see some Rob Standard or something as well? Isn't he a bigger more powerful back? I'm sick of all our RBs dancing around while Weisman just pounds it for nearly 150 yds.
And if we went into the game knowing that Richardson couldn't run the ball, then why run the zone read at all? If we were going to play Richarson, we should have just let him sit in the shotgun and sling it around all night. Might have been our only shot, especially when the biggest weakness on Iowa's defense is by far their secondary.
What a pathetic team we have. Im all for hanging with your team thru thick and thin but that craps getting old quick. No fun to watch a bunch of guys blow assignments all night and an offense that makes the Vinton school of the blind look better. Tired of people justifying this kind of performance. Freaking sorry as hell! No way any program that gives scholarships should ever not be able to move the ball 10 yds from time to time. He should have never been promoted to OC. Why the hell anyone was promoted from Herman's offense is beyond me. The O has been horrible under Rhoads.
If Rhoads can't take care of business and fire his *** then he is just not a the leader I thought he was.
