Messingham needs to go!

When this thread first popped up I thought it was really dumb. Now I'm on board. This is pathetic. I'm not one for rash decisions, but honestly I'd at a minimum have someone else calling the plays in the second half if I'm CPR.

Then we should break the ******. Whatever happened to adjustments? If plays aren't working, do something else! Don't run bad plays just because they are part of a ******.

EDIT: Don't know why the word s-c-r-i-p-t is being edited out.

the 4th and 4 bubble screen convinced me he should be fired, period. Awful.

Really. Go away Mess. We've seen what you've got and it just isn't working.

you are not a good Offensive Coordinator. flat out

I've just won my third national championship in 6 years as the offensive coordinator on NCAA on my playstation. I'm pretty sure with that knowledge I could at LEAST call plays to the ability Mess does.

At this point, Rhoads needs to make a change just for the sake of hope. How can he or the players have any confidence in Mess?

I am not the fan that makes complaints about coaches after one bad game. However, there is definitely something wrong with our offense given the talent available. We look terrible and completely out of sync, all the time.

It is just a game...but it's also a game people are investing significant time and money in. We have a right as "shareholders" to ask questions. What I want to ask right now, after this major disappointment to start the season, is - why is the offense not functioning?

I don't know man...this is a really bad Iowa team. Very very slow, very unathletic, very untalented. This is really bad.

The players need to first look in the mirror instead of blaming the coaches. Can't worry about your confidence in the coaches when you can't execute basic assignments on the field.

If PR doesn't make the move tomorrow he's going from stubborn to stupid. Mess doesn't understand that football is a north to south game, not east to west. How can you continue to subject the guys on D to this ineptness?

I think a big issue is that we are just in general too slow. Too slow to make adjustments, too slow to make the decision to tuck it and run, too slow hitting the holes. There is definitely confusion if that is happening.

SR looks like he's regressed to about junior high. I can't imagine our talent has really been this bad too years in a row.

Meh. I was at the ISU-Texas game in Chizik's first season.

In all honesty, this is probably the worst game I've ever seen live. To do this day, I'm still convinced Chizik laid down as a favor to Mack Brown. How do you lose by 50 to Texas, then lose to a superior Oklahoma team by 10 the next week?

Maybe we need to surprise Tulsa and come out with Grant and Nealy.

"needed" to go. past tense.
Too late now. Rhoads may very well go 0-12 or whatever this year. He will shake up staff, announce the triple option is coming back, and figure out how to maximize his contract termination terms. I have ZERO sympathy for this Coaching staff or the Administration at this point. I DO have sympathy for the players and the families and the long term Cyclone fans who have to suffer through another cycle of years of losing and hope for the next coaching buzz. I have lost all faith if these guys cannot see the obvious about this offense and the utter failure it is.
