New Big 12 logo

Don't hate it, don't love it. A generic logo with which they will be able to do a lot of brand-specific stuff. That being said, my first thought (and as others have pointed out), it doesn't do anything to take away from the "Texas 12" stereotype, as it does have a "horns" feel to it.

I guess it could be worse. I read an article somewhere, maybe here, that made a good point... We should decide if we want to display Big 12 or Big XII. Use one or the other as an "identity".

What's really sad is that they probably paid some marketing firm $500k to come up with this thing.

I'm not saying it's bad, but it sure wouldn't take a genius to come up with. My 10 year old daughter could have come up with that, and she only would have charged $10 bucks.
well if they paid that much they should have a style guide and be ready for role out already.

Reality - Texas would have bolted for the Pac-12 if that conference hadn't turned thumbs-down on the LHN...don't make Texas out to be some Big 12 "loyalist."

whatever the could-have-beens, all that matters is that texas stayed along with ou. had they left, we'd be up the muddy missouri without a paddle, canoe or waders to find our way across, playing at boise and new mexico rather than cashing multi-million dollar checks every month. so, rather than constant ***** about and at the horns, we might look for the good wisdom to honor their choice to stay. some people have no gratitude or common sense to show it, i'm not sure which it is at times.

Honestly from q brand perspective the longhorn is the strongest and ties into our shared plains cultural identity. I have no problem with it having a texas feel, it isnt a bad brand gotta put your best foot forward. I didnt see much ******** as much as stating an observation.

Guys, be easy on the new logo. It probably took an intern all summer to create this. Creating thick strokes around objects is really difficult to do.

to summarize thread: meh

Think it's more meh....Texas....Texas....meh

When all of the conference stuff started to settle an older Texas fan walked over to me at a restaurant. He shook my hand and thanked ISU for staying in the conference. He wanted nothing to do with the PAC

I'm basically OK with it, certainly better than the current one. My main gripe is if you keep the "Big 12 Conference" as one line it makes way too much wasted space and the XII is very small. All the other conference logos fit nicely in a square box. If you can make the text 2 lines it helps a lot, or better yet lose the word Conference completely.

It looks like a pair of Texas Longhorns stacked on top of each other on a Buick grill.

Meh is the word. How many marketing fees were paid out for this? Was it a Texas-based marketing firm.
It is all marketing now. Branding, so to speak. The fact I am even wasting time on this makes me feel like Dax in Idiocracy.

"We" didn't cash multi-million dollar checks every month. Someone at ISU Administration--probably with free healthcare--did. We didn't have to go to Boise or New Mexico....but we can sure lose to those types badly in bowls anyway, despite the multi-million dollar checks. Just keeping it real. Just win.

Seriously... we are ******** about a uniform patch. How about the SEC logo above? Works for them doesn't it?

Some of you guys act like recruits are going to start going elsewhere because our conference logo isn't "rad".
