Possible Transfer

The whole argument is we aren't aloud to talk Cyclones unless its all sunshine rainbows and unicorns.

first off, the word is "allowed."

second, since when? No new site rules have been implemented, as of the moment. the site is being administered the way it always has.

Keep going, Rustshack. Won't be too long, and you'll have enough strawmen to field your own team. Perhaps they'll meet your standards.

This site is policed by the community, which apparently dislikes overly negative attitudes.

now if we could just have negative rep back, we'd really have some teeth!

It's ironic that you're using a strawman as a strawman argument. Nothing he is saying is really untrue, people get really upset when you have an opinion that is adverse to the notion that our coaches are demi-gods or god forbid people that aren't d1 coaches could know stuff about sports.

But Rabbuk, when is it too far in your mind? I don't think anyone said its not okay to be critical. But where is the benefit in saying a recruit isnot good when your knowledge of said player is limited?

Yeah, I better switch teams because I said we are after better high school recruits than this guy. The butthurt continues!

The argument is that your claim that you are making right here, is incorrect. You don't scout players and you can't see into the future, therefore how can you claim to be correct on the basis of potential and future results? You are wrong on all fronts and the fact that you can't wrap your head around it is borderline mind boggling. Having a keyboard and a YouTube highlight film gives you no right or ability to pass judgement on any potential player, especially in an open forum such as this.

It's nothing to do with "pumping sunshine" or "unicorns" as you put it, it's just a matter of common levels of knowledge and basic people skills.

That's an exaggeration. Most posters generally assume that if we get a recruit the coaches wanted it is a good thing. The "trust the coaches" statement is just as inflammatory to the negative nancy's as the recruit trashing is to the sunshine crowd. Funny thing is most people are in the middle.

Actually... Don't know how he feels, but I don't feel our coaches are anything but normal.

They want who they offer a scholly to. Seems pretty cut and dried. Agreed?

I admit you "could know stuff about sports" as you said. I don't know.

am I? He says "The whole argument is we aren't aloud to talk Cyclones unless its all sunshine rainbows and unicorns." That statement is 100% untrue. He's "allowed" to have a negative opinion. He's "allowed" to post it. And other posters are "allowed" to disagree with him. And as long as everyone stays respectful, it's fine.

No. No it isn't. If some mouth breather wants to throw out his scouting reports that have been gathered from his cubicle, he can save his ******** for a private conversation around the water cooler.

No opinions on a message board? Sounds fun. I'm in.

No no, since the rules haven't changed, no ones getting upset about negative posts.

apples and oranges. Hell, apples and friggin' elephants!
other posters getting upset about negative posts and the site owners not allowing negative opinions are two very different things.

The benefit is holy **** someone might disagree with you, and holy **** maybe someone will learn something and we will have a discussion that isn't just "yep fred offered so he'll come in and contribute." We know if he was offered Fred feels he will contribute.

A de facto change is still a change, I think you have your head in the sand if you think things haven't changed in regards to the amount of butthurt people feel when an opinion is negative. But keep saying the rules haven't changed you're really knocking your own strawman down there.

Would this even be a big issue if hudl had simply updated its 15-year old Nigel Tribune numbers/
