Baylor to join the Big 8.

Baylor regents give OK to Big Eight move 02/24/1994 | Archives | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Interesting article considering the shoe is on the other foot almost 20 years later. Also, SIAP, this thread is almost impossible to keep up on.

Wow- if anyone looked at that article from '94, did you see at the end the note about athletic department budgets?

"Of the 12 athletic schools, the range of athletic budgets is approximately $10 million to $20 million," Reynolds said. "And we and two, three or four others hover right around that $10 million mark. The largest budget is the University of Texas."

Now you basically have to be in the neighborhood of around $50 million to at least compete with the big boys and you're over $100 million if your a king of college sports. Can't believe there is so much difference. Maybe I shouldn't be amazed by that because in another 17 years I suppose athletic budgets will quintuple again with the pace of these TV contracts. Wonder if in 2028 major universities will have a quarter or half billion athletic department budgets? And the rest of the university general fund to educate students? Ha

lol I'm getting trolled hard, but I might actually do it just to shut you guys up. I bet it's wells fargo people.

Directions to ISU hangar. Take a left into driveway keep left-1st turn you can make is where ISU keeps their planes. It's the closest building to airport road.

Actually it is far fetched. In the big10's expansion plan, we rank just slightly ahead of Case Western Reserve University, but behind Pitt, KU, Mizzu, Duke, UNC, Maryland, Tulane and Virginia. At least we came in tied with Rice for 24th so if the big10 expands to 24 we've probably got an in.

this might have chanced since DEC 2009, but here's what the Big 10 blog threw out then

No. 20: Notre Dame
No. 34: Boston College
No. 47 (tie): Texas
No. 56 (tie): Pittsburgh
No. 58 (tie): Syracuse
No. 66 (tie): Rutgers
No. 88 (tie): Iowa State
No. 96 (tie): Kansas
No. 96 (tie): Nebraska
No. 102 (tie): Missouri
No. 126 (tie): Utah
No. 128: Kentucky

Academic rankings of expansion candidates - Big Ten Blog - ESPN

We were ahead of Kansas, Nebraska, and Mizzou in academic rankings. Has it changed?

Wow- this plane stuff is interesting. Even if they claim to be Wells Fargo people, DO NOT believe them. They are acting as 3rd party go-betweens. Keep hounding them for quotes and info. You know how secretive Pollard is about this stuff. You think he's going to let that plane info get out on the web and then have a bunch of photographers break the story? No way. Pollard has hired Wells Fargo people to do the dirty work. Don't let them out easy.

It's not a real airport. Just drive up to the parking lot and park. They'll for sure have to go by you.

Funny you say this. Summer of 1996 I was working for a company that was doing work outside one of the dairy farm buildings out by the airport. I was carrying a 6 foot long x 8 inch piece of PVC when a jet followed by a military helicopter came in to land. I was carrying the pipe on my shoulder. Needless to say the helicopter came to a stop and turned to face me. I dropped the pipe and just stood there with my hands in the air.

Throw them off by wearing a US Bank shirt.

It's scheduled to land around 5:52. If you don't have time to find a US bank T-shirt by then to throw them off then walk up to the guys if they still claim to be Wells Fargo guys and mention something about a multi-Billion dollar bailout because of the economy. I heard that was the secret message from yesterday to try to decode the PAC 16 riddle. Once they spill the beans, they'll tell you where and when the PAC 16 welcome party with the band will be.

Texas A&M Leaving Big 12

Lol, what were they there for? I've been there before to meet a guy Dom the civil air defense once. It's like smaller than knots landing.
