Says the A&M Regents will vote to authorize the university president to seek approval from the SEC to make the move on Monday at 3:00pm.
Says SEC and A&M have been talking since April 2010.
Did not directly say that the SEC has directly invited A&M but that the talks over the past year and a half have made this a done deal.
Says he has heard Houston to the Big XII being discussed and also UNC and Duke to the SEC is something he has heard discussed.
Says A&M will be in the SEC in 2012, no later.
Says A&M more or less had a deadline to make this decision.

Do you think the Legislature is going to stick it's head in a "bees nest" by cutting the funding of #2 school in the state? That is much larger political suicide.
BTW. If they do, I'm very very glad my full-time salary is paid w/ soft (grant) money.

Says that A&M no longer trusts the Big XII to police the relations between UT and ESPN/LHN.
Says that some Big XII administrators have called this "the dumbest thing" and don't understand this move whatsoever.
Missed some of the interview, but he called it a "sad day for one of the great rivalries in college football". Doesn't see the rivalry necessarily continuing in the future when UT and A&M are in different conferences.
Says he has lost confidence in the Big 12 with 9 members holding together. Has no confidence for ISU/KU/KSU.
Says that he has heard Florida State is the SEC's other target with TAMU.
Says that we are back into full-blown "musical conferences" again beginning with this move.

We have already been cut to the bone @ A&M. If they cut any more money it WILL result in mass layoffs.

So where are they getting the $26,000,000 to buy Big 12 out of it's obligations?

Do you have a link that can verify what the buyout actually is? Never been able to find that...
Keep in mind that NU\CU paid much less than was thrown around last year after things were negotiated.
Don't know; don't care. Given that NU and CU got much smaller penalties that anticipated I'm certain A&M will have recourse to negotiate a similar deal. The AD will have to figure that out. (The potential $100million donation could help out with that. The remainder would go to Kyle Field.)
Jeff Tarpley said that NU paid around $9.5 million and CU paid around $6 million.
Loras, Wartburg, and Coe to the Big 12. If We want to go 16 we can pick up uDubuque, Simpson, Central, and Cornell.
