Speculation that Osama Bin Laden killed

Two thoughts:

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice."- Martin Luther King, Jr.

"I have never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure."- Mark Twain

Stop saying "Not to be political" because you clearly are being political. Take it to the cave.

Its not political when you are simply outlining the facts of a situation. There are facts, and there are opinions. Opinions are often political, but facts are simply information.

Sometimes people's political opinions are based on incorrect facts. Giving the correct facts (though they may conflict with someone else's political opinions) is not being political, it is being reasonable.

In the face!

This is what I thought of: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUq4YIdIVZM]YouTube - I just shot Marvin in the face - Pulp Fiction (HD)[/ame]

when I read excerpt: The sick chopper turned out to be a tiny wrinkle in an astounding military and intelligence triumph. Bin Laden was shot in the face by the SEALs during a firefight after resisting capture.

whomever of our spooks pulled the trgger deserves to write a book. I am pretty sure there are a LOT of specops from russia to dc that are plenty capable and jealous of those guys right now. Also, it is awesome that we built a mockup of the compound in aprl and he was there this weekend. I am also thrilled that we didn't take him out with a drone in california. This reminds me of the scene n jarhead, where the sniper team begs the co to let them take a shot at the target instead of letting the airforce lazer it.

I am as amazed at our strike teams as I was when we tripple sniped the pirates in the rocky water two years ago.

I'm personally saddened by this news. I know 9/11 was a great tragedy, but this killing of Bin Laden will not help anything. We are now on higher alert for a retaliation. You cannot stop violence with more violence. This will only instigate terrorists more, and we can expect them to retaliate soon, and we will have another tragic event. Fight violence with over-the-top love and peace.

So anyone that that is responsible for thousands of innocent lives lost should receive love and peace?

I'm all for peace and love as an overall philosphy... but in this case, I love that Osama is dead, and I hope his body is in pieces.

Killing Osama isn't going to encite anyone to attack America (or England, or Spain, or France, etc) who doesn't already want to. Osama is a murderous terrorist who has killed people of all ethnicities for decades, moderate Musliams won't shed a tear for him.

with all due respect, who do you think we're dealing with? while i would love more than anything to see this idealistic view win out, the reality of it is not possible. we're not dealing with rational thinkers. they believe we're evil and will stop at nothing to destroy us - i'm sorry, we can't defend ourselves with 'love and peace'.

You're right, we should have just tapped Bin Laden on the shoulder and said, "you're a bad guy and have killed thousands of innocent people, but today is your lucky day. You can go free and do what you want." :jimlad:

I couldn't agree more, I have no sympathy for this guy. I do however not see the reason for celebrating in the streets. The war isn't over, his role in modern day terriorism is nothing what it once was, nothing is different than yesterday and people make a mockery of things they have stood up for morally/politically by making a spectacle of his death.
