Let's hear some breakup stories....

I hope like hell you won the custody proceedings.

The rest of the story: We agreed to joint custody. She married the guy she left me for, had the engagement ring on and him in tow when we went to court the first time for the initial divorce proceeding, the feeling out phase.

She divorced him after two years after cheating on him with multiple people, including a guy who ran the video store in the town I was living in when she came to visit the kids. She liked to tell me all this stuff for some reason.

She then married a guy who beat her with great gusto. Stayed married to him for 5 years, because she was afraid to divorce him. Finally divorced him, then married a guy about 15 years older than her, who died last year of cancer. That's not counting the 5 or 6 guys she lived with in between marriages.

She is currently broke, single and alcoholic and looks rode hard and put up wet. One of her biggest complaints about me was she couldn't be herself, which is a skanked out, drunked up *****, I guess. I had a pretty high-profile, respectable job at the time and she had to watch herself.

The kids lived with me for a great portion of her personal meltdown.

I had an on again-off again relationship with a guy in high school. Our very first break-up, he handed me a note and walked away. Don't know why I ever took him back. The last break-up, his reason was that if we stayed together, we would get married, then get divorced, and he just didn't want to do that. He was in 9th grade.

Your story sounds exactly like this song. To a "T".

Glad the kids were with you for most of that.

Some days I wonder if I missed out by sticking with the same girl since the end of high school. Then I read a thread like this and am glad that I never seriously questioned a good thing.

I think I'm done finding girls at bars. Church is probably going to be the better place. Hope she's not the organ player (no pun intended).

"No matter how good lookin she is, there is at least one guy out there who is tired of puttin up with her crap."

I got dumped too. She said she needed to find herself. Turns out she was with the manager at the half price store she worked at during the summer. Was pretty torn up for a while. Good news is I got a better one with a lot more options. I wish I could thank the old flame.

I feel like my break ups are pretty boring after reading these. So I'll chime in with a story from my hometown I heard not too long ago.
This guy I know from back home has recently decided to divorce his wife. Not a big deal, until you hear the back story. This guy is like 56, has 3 boys, youngest being 21. Not too long ago he started a facebook page and had some disturbing pictures on there where he acted like he was trying to be sexual. Anyway, turns out he is leaving his wife for a woman he met on the internet. The best part? She's 20 years old. His son was also accused of banging a 13 year old or something like that when he was 20. Guess that sorta thing must be genetic?

Worst breakup I ever had was when I was a Junior in college. Dated a girl for about 6 months. The good news was that she was a perfect 10. No joke. Way out of my league. Bad news was she was also widely known for being a skank. I was totally head over heals and let her treat me like garbage for about 6 months. Then one night as I was waiting for her to arrive for a date....I got a call instead. She called to let me know that she had been going on dates with another guy and although she had not had sex with him, she was breaking up with me because she planned to that night. I was totally devastated to say the least.
About 6 months later I had just gotten back from 2 months in Europe and was finally getting over her. Then I woke up in the middle of a stormy night and found someone in my room with me! Straight out of a horror movie where you think you hear something and look up to see someone is actually standing over you!!!! It was her of course after 9 months of silence. She was badly beaten and said the guy she left me for did it. I spent the rest of the night cleaning her wounds and went to get advice/help for the situation to help her. When I got back 4 hours later she left a note that she was at the bars. I went to Mickeys to find her and she was totally wasted. It was then I found out the truth. She was 4 months pregnant (and yes I said she was drunk) and the wounds on her face were from her falling down the stairs at her boyfriends house. The boyfriend was so upset that she was doing this to their baby that he threw her out forever. I called her mom to inform her of the situation and where she was. Then I walked out of the bar and never heard from her again. That was the biggest bullet I have ever dodged!

Yeah so I had a GF in college that was less then faithful. In my ignorance and on the promise of changed ways we tried to make it work. (my first mistake) after a short time (a few months) I got fed up with her. Woke up one morning got out of bed that she was also sleeping in went to the kitchen and made myself breakfast. Bacon and eggs with toast.

How did you prepare the eggs?

Here's a family one (my wife's aunt):

She was going out of state for a business trip and told the family she was extending her trip for an extra day to visit an old friend (girl) from high school. Her daughter thought something was up and decided to hack her mom's email and found the evidence that she was actually meeting up with a guy from a town near where they live to go to a concert and a night in a hotel. My wife's cousin is 18 and a senior in high school and the other is ~14 going to be a freshman next year. She took the evidence to her mom a begged her not to do it but the mom blew her off. This was about a month ago. Divorce is now filed but neither can afford to move out so they are sharing the house while it is on the market.

Can't wait for the next holiday with my wife's aunt and the dude she broke up the family with (she intends to continue dating the guy)...
