ISU vs Texas Tech Post Game thread

Re: vent your frustration HERE

For as soft as we looked and not diving for balls, I am beginning to think McD has to begin to act more like a Frank martin because it looks like we do not listen very well. We are really mmissing a greatr opportunity. Talent is ours. Hustle is not. Gilstrap was our best and most consistent player. The rest did not play like they needed to wsin. Hey, McD, should press more earlier in the game for a changeup. We can block their shots when they rush them inside if they break the press.

Very hard to press teams now with our lack of depth. Something is just off with this program. The players don't seem to play much as a "team".

Just listening to the post game show and I think it so great that we can all sit here and kill coach McDermott for bringing Colvin back and these guys "not playing". They essentially had no practices when one starter leaves. Another starter loses his Uncle and is in the locker room crying before the game and Mac thinks he's 50/50 to play. And they lose a road game by 7 while coming back from a 15 point deficit on the road.

Mac asked EVERY player what they thought about Colvin and CB said you have to bring him back. I think he is right.

For goodness sakes, we act like these kids are robots and it doesn't matter if a teammate quit on them 24 hours ago or a close relative died 24 hours ago.

Let's get KU on Saturday!!

Exactly, its not fair to CB to cut him short. He needs all the help he can get.

I can't shake the feeling that we really should have beat this team tonight.

Mohawk dude just would hit a 3 every time we would and kill our momentum.

You must of been at the game, because no way could you tell he had a mohawk from the TV feed.

It's the same thing every game. Poor free throw shooting. Poor rebounding, even though the other team is much smaller. No perimeter defense at all. No pressure defense of any sort. Inability to finish drives or in-the-lane shots. 2 of your big guys taking 3 point shots outside instead of working it inside and drawing fouls. Same old nonsense, game after game.

Remember GMac had said earlier in the week that they were working on some new things to get CB the ball down low? Did anyone see anything new tonite?

Also, whenever TT screwed up, or ISU started to make the slightest run......Knight took a time out. TT would make a run......it would build......and GMac did nothing.

And the most ridiculous thing of all.....first it was bad enough that you took the suspension off Colvin...but then you have him in there at a critical time in the game? What message does that send to him or the rest of the team? This whole program is a mess.......sorry.......but it is.
I was rielly confused tonight - Did Brackens sit alot tonight or please tell me how we got out played by this team????

I am done watching cyclone games and done watching any basketball game that the BIG 12 puts on TV. It is embrassing that the Big 12 still shows games that are not in HD. The Saturday Phillips 66 games are absolutely terrible, CTN games are terrible and what I watched tonight was terrible. When is this conference going to get its act together and produce a decent game. Half of the time the TT score was cut in half and had to guess at the score.

In todays sports environment how can the BIG 12 be one of the supposed major BCS conferences and not have games in HD. Does anyone know why this conference is so behind the times? Sorry, I forgot once the payments go to TEXAS there is no money left for TV upgrades. I guess I am stuck having to listen to games over the radio.

I am not surprised we lost at all. We are awful on the road, and never play well in bad environments like Colorado/Texas Tech. Add the adversity and this was a sure loss. They certainly have the talent to win, but aren't ready I guess. Our expectations for this team are way too high. We may develop into a good team, but have not demonstrated it yet.

After Lucca and his 8 ppg quit yesterday, I knew we would lose by 7. And we did. I can't believe that kid won't play in Hilton anymore, such a shame. Rumple should kick his *** for leaving his sister like this.

Old member, new to posting in general. I've posted once before months ago and not sure what that was. Tired of mediocrity and transfers every other year. I have no answers, just want to vent to this page and see what others say on a horrible day and just how wrong i am with a basketball program I WANT TO BE PROUD OF. CW, love you on Murph and Andy, tell me how this basketball situation will be alright. Please make me feel better.

My co-workers range from 18-50, and I didn't see a single one that managed not to lose focus at some point Wednesday morning thinking about the icy drive home that we were all looking at. It happens when you're dealing with human beings.

Whether we want it to or not, real life intrudes on things like jobs, school, and games. That's just how life works.

Glad the team didn't give up and we actually had a chance to pull within 2-3 with under 2 minutes left, but broke down on defense yet again. That was definitely a very winnable road game and I doubt we are going to have many more of those this year.

Making free throws??????????

What is going on with this team? Are we coaching players how to miss FTs? I only heard a couple minutes of the game last night on the way home from work. CB was a the line and the announcers said the team was 4 for 11 FTs. I though, wow that is pretty bad, then CB makes it 4 of 13. I didn't see any reason to listen further.

Looks like we are proving over and over again that our players are better individually yet we do not play as well in a group. The defense looked shabby last night. Our offense was barely adequate. We have lost three games now whwerre we essentially let it happen.

Almost reminds us of:

"Tournament? Tournament? What tournament?" A takeoff on the old NFL football coach concerning playoffs.

Or....

"Practice? Practice? This was just practice for Kansas." Allen Iverson takeoff.

I'm only disappointed because I thought that this time, because we reeeaallly needed the miracle, or the exceptionally good night, or the lucky roll that we'd get. Logically, this is about what should've been expected. I just let my heart win out going into the game and as much as that sucks this morning I'll probably keep doing it. Someday it is going to turn around and I don't want to have stopped caring when it does.

We would have won if is wasnt for Turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover.
Missed FT, Missed FT, Missed FT, Missed FT, Missed FT, Missed FT, Missed FT, Missed FT, Missed FT, Missed FT, MIssed FT. GAME.
