What happened to the 2019-2020 recruiting class?

To be fair to Prohm, his best recruits from the last two recruiting classes left early for the NBA. That definitely makes it hard to build a team when you lose players early. Still, he needs to manage the remaining team much better.

bsaltyman makes a fair point here. The problem is, we didn't have a good recruiting class for this season. As bad as this team is, two of the recruits couldn't compete on this team and requested immediate transfers. Not transfers at the end of the season, as it goes with most players, but immediate transfers. So we didn't have talent coming in to replace what we lost. Losing those players to the NBA wasn't on Prohm, but having a partial-bust of a recruiting class IS on Prohm.

So what happened to this class? How did we miss-evaluate two players so badly that they couldn't even play one season?

Lataaaa

Prohms had great teams that he had no control over. The Morris teams for example. The reason those guys were good is because that team LOVED each other, I’m pretty sure they coached the team. Lindell and tucker gotta do step back threes and act like they were the man on campus. Sickening to watch. Prohm has to go. Ban me for it. The dudes making like 2 mill a year to lose to 1-9 team lmao. Think about that.

I think we need something to distract us from the awfulness that we experienced this evening.

I came accross an article posing this question and at first glance I said of course. But a little thinking and I can see the argument saying that 2020 is the 10th year of the decade. What do you people think?

Drones - not corporate but flying things

I have 2 "entry level" drones and thought it would be a good idea to have a few more batteries so I can keep flying. I had no clue that each and every budget drone "invented" it's own battery which you can't find anywhere. Connectors are goofy, sizes are goofy while the basic stuff - voltage, amperage are "standard".

Drone hobbyists - are power sources easier to find and more consistent as you move up? I'd love to do some aerial photography so also curious about recommendations for a next level machine.

Shapiro

Does anyone know what his weight is? After listening to Coach KD's comments I'm wondering if he wouldn't be better at 184. He had a impressive RS year at 184. I'm not saying he could/would beat out Colbray. I also know Broderson is looking also really good at 184 and KD makes some very praising comments about him. I'm just wondering if Shapiro might be battling for 184 next year should Sam decide to move up. It is nice to see this type of depth and I realize that Shapiro and Broderson are both young.

With that said, I hope he has a breakout tourney at the Schuffle.

Twister sister summary – ladies win a dog fight at the line

For those who always complain about the twister sisters schedule, last nights game should have met any demands for a decent opponent. Northern Alabama came into the game with a nine and two record and had taken the Iowa Hawkeyes to the buzzer in Iowa city. They showed the cyclone crowd exactly why this happened.

What this game became was a battle in the trenches much like those we saw against Iowa and northern Iowa. Northern Alabama was feisty from the start and tried to play physical against our sisters. What they hadn’t planned on was being called for the fouls they were committing. Adding insult to injury, the sisters hit 88% of their FORTY TWO Free-throw attempts. That’s 37 of 42. Keep in mind that northern Alabama made 10 more field goals and two more three-pointers than Iowa State did in the game. The other major factor was the sisters dominating on the boards, outrebounding northern Alabama 43-23. Those two statistics are all you need to know about this game.

For the game, Iowa State only used six players. Yes, that’s not a misprint. Coach Fennelly still talks about producing in practice in order to play in the game and apparently a couple of players that we would expect to see are not getting it done. One of my New Year’s wishes is to see this change as we need to or three more players to step up and provide meaningful minutes.

Joens was is her usual self getting another double double with 22 points and 15 boards. All of the six players contributed on offense with everyone hitting free throws and only Maggie not making a field goal. The defense for most of the game (excluding a six minute start to the fourth quarter when they were showing fatigue) was excellent. I was very impressed with Emma Wallen from northern Alabama. That girl can shoot from downtown and has a quick move towards the basket. Some folks at the game we’re getting upset with her lobbying the officials, but I saw it as frustration and the fact that she is a gamer.

On the Madison Wise front, the only news is that she will see her doctors again on Thursday for an evaluation. She has been ruled out for the opening big 12 game at Texas Tech. Speaking of Texas Tech, I’m never sure what to think about their team. They are undefeated on the season but have played a schedule that makes Iowa State's look like a major rumble. They are dominating their opponents with many of their wins by 40+ points. But if their opponents are NAIA schools what does that tell you? In the past it means that they will be an average big 12 team at best. Good enough to beat you at home if you don’t bring your best game. That is what I expect to see on Friday.
