So does anyone know of any bars in the metro that have ESPN+ for a game watch Saturday? Figured with the 49ers playing at the same time would be a good day to go for a game watch somewhere. East side of metro (Ankeny/Altoona) preferable, but anyplace in DSM would do.

Any idea how to access this game? I have NBA pass on YouTube TV and it is blacked out. Also not available on ESPN+, count me confused.

I wanted to start a thread about Bracket prediction. I know its meaningless and its not getting worked up over, but dangit, its entertainment. I waste time watching TV shows that are meaningless, going to movies that are meaningless and playing games that are meaningless, all in the name of entertainment, so I'm going to spend the next 2+ months pouring over any projection I can get my hands on.

As most of of know, the selection committee ranks all teams 1-68. Then starting at #1, they give each team the location closest to their school, no matter what. So what does that mean for Iowa State?

The distance from Ames to each location is in this order. Des Moines, Columbus/Denver (tied), Birmingham, greensboro, albany, orlando, sacremento.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of good teams who are also closest to Des Moines. Kansas, Arkansas, Kansas State, Marquette.
There are also some second tier teams that could move up if they go on a hot streak. Creighton, Missouri, Baylor, Illinois
Another problem is teams that have Des Moines as their second closest. Purdue, Texas, TCU

I'm not worried about Purdue. They will most like get Columbus. I listed out 29 teams and only 4 of them have Columbus as closest (Purdue, Ohio State, Xavier and Indiana) and there aren't too many with Columbus as #2.

Texas and TCU could be a problem. Birmingham is there closest, but its also the closest for Houston, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn. It could also come into play as an option for Duke, North Carolina or a those teams closest to Columbus.

As such, I think Iowa State at a minimum needs to be a 3 seed to get Des Moines and possibly a 2 seed. They need to finish ahead of Kansas, Kansas State, Texas, TCU, Baylor (at least head of 4 of those).

I reached out to the contact at KU that helped us with a block of 60 tickets for Football and can get a group rate on tickets for this Saturday(not exactly sure on details yet). I'd love to quickly see how much interest there is here so I can go back with as big of request as possible for negotiations.

Please help me settle an ongoing argument with my in-laws.

We're at the game last night (Tuesday) and the wife asks me something about what's going on "next Saturday". I say, "you mean 'this Saturday', right?" and we go down our standard argument about "this" vs "next" Saturday and her brother chimes in on her side to tell me what an idiot I am.

I'm not talking about "this coming Saturday" or any other qualifiers like that. Strictly, "next Saturday".

If we were sitting on Friday, then yes, logically I could see "this Saturday" would be the next day and "next Saturday" would be 8 days from now, but I'm talking the extreme case of today being a Sunday, so the closet Saturday is 6 days away.

I picked one helluva' day to fly...

I have a Rott/Lab mix dog who’s about 10 months old. Never could get her to go poop on a leash, so I put her out on a tie-down in the fenced front yard every morning and then again around dinner time. It gives her a chance to do some running around and do her business with some privacy.

About a half dozen times in the last month, when I’ve gone out to bring her back in, I’ve noticed spit or a loogie on her, usually on her face. Tonight it was on her back.

After the second time, my fiancée called the local police department and they said they wouldn’t do anything about it even if we had it on video. I put up a camera anyway, but it goes off for every little movement and the batteries died pretty quickly. I didn’t bother to replace them given what the cops said, but after tonight I’m just fed up. The spit had brown in it like the person was eating chocolate or something.

I’m going to replace the batteries and watch when she’s out from now on, but how should I handle it if I catch someone in the act? What would you do?
