13-14 Clones vs 22-23 Clones. Who wins

The 2013-2014 Cyclones were legit National Championship contenders before Georges Niang broke his ankle in the tournament. This is not hyperbole. They were led by All-American Melvin Ejim and and arguably the most impactful transfer in the history of the program, All-American Deandre Kane. Other notable players were future pro (but redshirting) Abdel Nader, future pro Monte Morris, and future pro Naz Long, future pro Matt Thomas. And again, the greatest 4 year player of all-time, future pro Georges Niang.

An offensive juggernaut.

Who's winning?

A few things to consider:

When you think about how great this season has gone, you really need to look at a few things too:

We held a scholarship and were hoping/expecting AJ Green to come. Last minute, he didn't.
We were expecting Williiams to start at the 1, and due to a terrible injury he's unavailable.
We have gone with Lipsey, a true freshman PG, starting from day one.

Kunc got hurt right before conference play and hasn't played a minute.

Considering all of this, and to be sitting in 1st after 8 games, is truly remarkable. Massive credit to the staff, players, everybody. The amount of grit this team has displayed has been incredible. There is still a lot of season left and all of the teams goals are ahead of them and they can do great things. But this is a year where it would have been easy for things to get sideways. It is a year where there have been a lot of opportunities to hang their heads. They have continued to push through. I don't know where this team stacks up historically but this might be the most proud of a group I've ever been. They never day a day off. They never take a play off. Great job.

It’s time we talk about Gabe

As one of the best guards not just in the Big 12, but in the entire country.

Also a couple shoutouts are in order:

1. Holmes for having a big game when Grill couldn’t be anything more than a decoy for most of the night.
2. Grill for being the toughest SOB on the floor tonight and hitting a big shot even with his back injury.

Adult Swim fires voice of Rick & Morty

The voices are going to be recast, but I can't imagine it'll be the same.. But in light of the charges against him, I think that was the only way AS could handle it.

Addyson Brown is a McDonalds All-American

Addyson Brown, W Signed with: Iowa State | 2023 espnw 100 ranking: 31 Derby HS (Kansas)

Brown is a utility forward who can fill any hole on the floor. A physical rebounder who can stretch the floor to the 3, she is one of those players that is somewhat position-less. Defensively, Brown can guard from the perimeter to an inside post player, something she was tasked to do all summer with her club squad. The most outstanding quality of her game may be her passing -- her teams can run the offense through her and she is often the best decision-maker on the floor. She will grab a rebound and ignite the break or throw a touchdown-like outlet pass to a teammate running the floor. Over the past year, she has gotten more aggressive offensively, and it has taken her game to a new level. She led her Team Lex squad this summer to the adidas 3SSB championship. Her sister, Kennedy, was a 2019 McDonald's All American and plays for Duke. The Iowa State signee is averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists while shooting 55% from the field this season. Start of second go round in Big 12 play shaping up to be crazy

After the SEC Challenge the Big 12 starts the second go round of conference play - everyone has played everyone else once and they start seeing each other again. Here is the lineup of games that week with current conference records:

Mon 30 JAN
ISU (5-2) @ TTU (0-7) *
BU (5-3) @ UT (5-2)

Tue 31 JAN
KSU (6-1) @ KU (5-3)
WVU (1-6) @ TCU (5-3) *

Wed 01 FEB
OSU (3-4) @ OU (2-5)

Sat 04 FEB
KU (5-3) @ ISU (5-2)
TTU (0-7) @ BU (5-3) *
TCU (5-3) @ OSU (3-4)
UT (5-2) @ KSU (6-1)
OU (2-5) @ WVU (1-6)

That's 10 games and only 3 of them (marked with an *) aren't matchups between teams at least within a game and a half of each other. Included in that is Bedlam, Sunflower Showdown, KU at Hilton and BU in Austin. It looks to be a hell of a week of basketball!
