Instagram suspension

I'm curious if anyone else has run into this. I'm browsing instagram and the site refreshes and says my account is suspended for community standards violation. I haven't posted in months, maybe even a year, so this is goofy. It asks for me to verify my mobile number with a text which I complete, then it gives me this page.

Is this crap for real??? I will walk away from my account before I comply with that. It really feels like a MITM attack.

Gold & Blue Dude Passed Away

I know many of you dont like the so called WV mafia, but some do. So after seeing this I thought I would share. There is a gofundme to support his family.

I have watched a bit of G&B Dude over the last few months, mostly as entertainment, because he mostly does speculation etc. and at least he admitted it was just speculation etc.

Whatever you think of the guy, it is sad to see that he has passed away, and so young.

Here is a message from his family.

On That Note: Dead Set on Production

Welcome back to “On That Note,” CycloneFanatic’s gathering place for music listening & discussion, co-hosted by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and cyclones500.

For this segment, we explore notable music producers. Premise: Post some of your favorite tracks/albums/artists associated with a specific producer.

Basic parameters:
  • Select one or two producers as a primary focus (especially on day 1), then post three or four song clips for each. It can involve multiple artists, or you can choose a specific artist/recording. (If you’re wondering, artists/bands with self-produced work does count).
  • We’ll allow repeats of a producer already cited, but use different artists, songs or LPs.
  • Allow some time for others to respond, either by augmenting producers mentioned or creating your own list. This isn’t a contest or a race. Our main goal is to explore producer-artist combos that have an impact for you and hear some of the music samples (and why, if you want to elaborate).
Citations/credits: This topic is inspired by a post from @BMWallace in “Friday OT: On An Island In The Sun” (by @Angie via @Farnsworth).
I'll get us going w/ a follow-up post.

It's time to switch to football ...

Some random thoughts and questions.

1. Spring games are worthless endeavors, right?
2. Nebraska will probably have a sellout though with Matt Rhule coming to Memorial
3. Talk about Texas quarterbacks (Ewers v. Manning) will become nauseating
4. ISU's schedule looks daunting starting UNI, Iowa, finishing Texas, K-State, and @ OU as well
5. Has Gundy's run at oSu turned south permanently?
6. Will Neil Brown make it through the season?
7. Will any of the incoming four finish above .500 in B12 play?
8. I'm taking UCF, they could be salty
9. Worst hire: Cincinnati and I'll bet you can't name him?
10. Championship game: K-State/Texas?

CF Challenge for ForeverTrue Day

Fanatics -

As you well know, the Iowa State University Foundation is a big supporter of what we do here at Cyclone Fanatic. I thought it would be really cool if we could rally behind them and track gifts made by CFers for 2023 Forever True Day.

We have a personalized link for CFers here.

I plan to give to the marching band, vet med and the school of journalism.

Click on that link above and see all of the incredible options.

My goal here isn't for us to raise a ton of money (although that would be awesome) but to get our user base engaged with other aspects of the university besides athletics. I think this is a really cool event and hope you all participate if you can.

Giving starts at noon!

2023-2024 Recruits & Transfers

Creating a new thread based on this year’s cycle. The other thread has kind of gotten off the rails.

2024 HS Commitments:
133 Meza (AZ)
149/157 Naaktgeboren (IA)
197 Barlelt (FL)
285 Herrera (CA)

HS Interest:
125/133 Lilledahl (MO)…PSU
165 Angelo Ferrari (OK)

Top IA guys I hope we reach out to:
125 Christensen (Waukee)
141/149 Lucas Bruhl (Ankeny Centennial)

Potential Transfers (based on need):
157/165 - Messenbrink (Cal Baptist - 4 yrs)
174 - Shane Griffith (Stanford - 1 yr)
184 - Bernie Traux (Cal Poly - 1 yr)
285 - Andrew Davison (Northwestern - 1 yr) - Michigan
Yaraslau Slavikouski (Harvard - 1 yr) - Rutgers
Seth Nevills (PSU - 1 yr)
Boone McDermott (Rutgers - 1 yr)

Others top transfer (but don’t meet a need):
125 - Caleb Smith (App St - 2 yrs)
133 - Chris Cannon (Northwestern- 2 yrs)
165 - Izzak Olejnik (NIU - 1 yr)

Portal Unknown:
197 - Jakob Woodley (OK) - out of eligibility

Please add any names I missed and/or details you have on the above guys. There’s not too many impact transfers and I have only heard us being on Traux & McDermott list. With most of the top teams having their heavyweight I would expect us to be able to land a heavy with Davison being the jewel.

Officiating - what to do?

Throughout the season anyone watching an ISU women's game consistently saw officials that were average at best and often pretty bad. Prior to the final four someone on here (sorry...couldn't find the post) listed the officials and commentary about it matched what we saw. Now there is much conversation about all the fouls being called, the lack of some calls, and overall...the inconsistency in the title game. Even the latest Monday Musings voice the opinion that officials should swallow their whistles (my words) as opposed to making calls that interrupt the flow of the game. So...my big questions are these...why do we have rules and officials? Are there times when officials should ignore the rules and "let players play?" Are there "no call" periods in the game (such as the last minute of regulation) when no whistles should be blown?

Someone say the silent part out loud for me

Why would the NCAA want to intentionally screw the biggest star in WBB out of winning a championship? I keep seeing people say(not all Hawk fans) that the game was not reffed fairly towards both ends and that "you know why" they wouldn't want Clark to be a national champion, which is why the game was fixed for LSU.

But I actually do not know why. At all. I'm beyond confused. Someone help.

Look-Ahead/Promo: This week at “On That Note”

Informational/promo purpose only. Please do not post song clips in this thread. (Official thread coming Tuesday night, as typical.)

For this week’s segment, we’ll explore notable music producers, selecting favorite tracks/albums/artists involving their collaboration. This topic could require a little research, so advance notice may prove helpful.

We’ll include some parameters regarding how many producers/selections can be cited for each participant. OTN crew is finalizing details for that. It won’t be extremely stringent; main goal is, we want this to be collaborative, not a “contest.”

Meanwhile, start your search, and we’ll see you Tuesday!

Hedge options for NC

For some reason at the beginning of the Tournament I put a small wager on SDST to win at 30 to 1 odds. I have nothing on the other side. I would hate to come away with nothing on this if UConn wins so I would like to place a bet(s) if that happens. Problem is UConn ML is -350 so not really a viable option. Hoping the other degenerates on here have some good ideas.
