Gofundme for Des Moines trafficking victim

I'm putting this in Off-Topic, but if it needs to be moved to Politics, a mod can move it.

I feel like this story didn't get a lot of coverage locally (or if it did I missed it). In June of 2020 a 15 year old killed a man that had raped her. This week she sentenced to probation only, but Iowa law requires that she pay $150,000 to the family of the person that was killed. A teacher started this gofundme for her both to repay the money and to help her get some education and start her life. I think it is a worthy cause.

On That Note: Story Time

Welcome to another edition of “On That Note,” CF’s weekly music series, co-hosted by @MeanDean, @cyclones500 and myself.

So this week we are looking at songs with the following narrative forms in the title or lyrics: story, tale, fable, legend, ballad, myth, epic, folklore / lore.

We have done an OTN topic focused on books, newspaper and magazines, where style of the words above also were involved, but those specific words are NOT allowed for this segment.

Last Week's Topic: TV Party Tonight!

"Weak Big 12"

So in the Iowa cry-posting these days I see most of them type out "Weak Big 12" as if it's the official name of the conference. They can't just type "Big 12", always "Weak Big 12".

Let's compare some SOS of "Weak Big 12" ISU vs Iowa's SOS playing in the Big Ten

2021: Iowa 23, ISU 24....wow so much harder, 1 spot different out of 131 teams
2020: ISU 7, Iowa 50...that's not even close "SUPER Weak Big Ten" I guess
2019: ISU 16, Iowa 32
2018: ISU 29, Iowa 36
2017: ISU 14, Iowa 24
2016: ISU 23, Iowa 53...another not even close year "Weak Big Ten" I guess
2015: ISU 4, Iowa 59...ok this is like playing in a lower division of super easy football
2014: ISU 6, Iowa 59...two years in a row of a lower division of easy football
2013: ISU 17, Iowa 44

Do I need to keep going?

CLAIMED: Two tickets for Ohio

Gone already, enjoy the game!

_______________________________________________

Just received the athletic department email about the $22 ticket special for Ohio. I don't live in Iowa anymore, but still want to support ISU when I can. So I picked up a couple tickets in section G and I'm offering them free to a good home.

Ideally these would go to someone who hasn't been able to go to a game yet, so PM me if you need two tickets for this Saturday's game and I'll transfer them to your account. Only stipulation are that if you get these tickets, you HAVE to go to the game or find someone to go in your place. 1:00 PM kickoff is plenty of time to get rid of Friday night's hangover. I want to see the stands full when I'm watching this weekend.

Can we talk about Ohio?

I'm ready to move on and fear the dreaded "emotional letdown" and/or "look ahead" game.

How many fans will show up to Trice this weekend?
Is Penn State that good or is Ohio mediocre?
Will Ohio test our defense better than our first two opponents this year?
Do they have any injured players out? Do we?
Are there any Bobcats lurking? Care to fill us in?
