Can we lay off Hunter Dekkers.

With the All Big XII teams announced Dekkers got an honorable mention at the QB position. Can people please look objectively and see what he was asked to do and with what pieces he had to work with.

Statistically he was great and with little to no protection. I get he was prone to bone headed turn overs, and I always hated watching the pocket collapse and he would just stand in there and take the sack. However they were always playing from behind and couldn't run the ball for most of the season. Everyone knew they would be passing which makes it alot easier on the opposing defense to sell out on the run and watch for the interception or other opportunities.

The conference saw him for what he is not for the bad plays he made. Fact is he is talented and should be a key piece moving forward.

What I found most interesting was after all the talk of Texa$$' QB room being so great they didn't get one on an All Big XII team or an honorable mention.

B12 Championship TCU vs KSt

In a year when the B!2 was pretty even these two emerged as the top two, deservedly so. TCU has everything in front of them and just need to focus on the task at hand. They can't rely on coming thru in the 4th quarter as they have done repeatedly. KSt has the horses and can pull it off if they can avoid costly turnovers. Max Duggan is a great story for sticking it out under the new regime and regaining the QB1 posiiton while putting up great numbers. KSt doesn't have the team speed that TCU has but plays fundamentally sound football and their coach has quietly built a strong program without a lot of noise and glamour. I pick TCU 27-17.

‘My legs feel like pistons’: The legend of George Amundson

You know George Amundson's name but do you know his story?

George Amundson returned to Ames for a football game this year to reunite with his Cyclone teammates.

Perimeter defense by our bigs

Just have to say that I could not be more impressed by how the big guys on TJ's teams defend on the perimeter (inside too, but especially on the perimeter). I'm still trying to get used to seeing one of our forwards or centers switched onto a quick guard and not expecting them to get torched, even when they are guarding closely enough to prevent the three.

The fundamentals on display are really, really impressive, and that takes some serious dedication on the part of the players, and great coaching by the staff.
