Villains of the 80s artwork

Saw this on Facebook and thought it was fun. While I can't necessarily name a lot of them, I know what movie almost all of them are from. There is one I don't know and one I'm not sure about. Have no clue who the guy in the white suit with the long fingers is in the top center, and I'm guessing the guy with the putter is Judge Smails, but if it is its not the best likeness. Which one can you not place? Any villains you think are missing that should have made it?

NCAA Finances

Interesting story from USA Today. With all the realignment news going on... to me it's interesting that Kansas and Iowa State will have the largest AD budgets in the Big12 after Texas and Oklahoma leave.

ISU comes in at #39 with $111M

Big June ‘23 OV Weekend 2

Recapping the known official visitors, pending their responses. In short, here’s the beef!

OL
AJ Burton 6’5” 275 Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek HS
From Myles Purchase’s HS. Offers from Colorado, Indiana and Wazzoo.

Dontrell Holt 6’3” 285 Joplin (MO) HS
*Committed*

Emerson Mandell 6’5” 310 New Brighton (MN) Irondale HS
Athleticism and size reminiscent of Deylin Hasert. The highest ranked OL target visiting. Kid will be a beast.

California twins who are also reportedly visiting Oregon State, Arizona State and SMU.

***I’m not sure any of these guys have the length CMC seems to like in an OT, but I am pretty sure that if we land at least two more from this group, at least the IOL is going to be in really great shape going forward.

Smooth receiving TE with really nice hands. Also visited Stanford.

QB
Deyon Batiste 6’5” 210 Katy (TX) Cypress Creek HS

Friday OT - Digging for Gold

What is a very-unknown site or recommendation you have about a place you know well?

This is a terrible example - but my grandparents used to live NW of Boone, IA, so they showed us the Milton Lott grace several times when I was growing up, and told us the story: https://pubs.lib.uiowa.edu/palimpsest/article/id/25182/download/pdf/
(That is overall very much a story told through the lens of the homesteaders, rather than the indigenous people, but the death of a child is tragic regardless.)

Do you know any hidden gems in an area that you can share?

C5 Parking Pass

Anyone willing to swap a C5 parking pass for a D5 parking pass or sell a C5 parking pass for this season or a swap plus cash? Our tailgate group has been together in the old D6 lot for 10+ years. This year, the rest of my group got into C5, but C5 filled up 5-10 minutes before my selection time.

Junior National Duals

Junior National Duals is going on right now and they are currently in a dog fight with Oklahoma in greco. Some results will be posted here. The cadet team won both Greco and Freestyle which is a great thing for our young kids in the state.

Selling Tailgate Ambulance

Looking to sell the Ames Tailgate Machine. Needing to sell due to having a young kid and not wanting to be gone all day on football Saturdays. Its a 1992 Ford e-350 diesel ambulance with only 76k miles. I have owned since 2012 and bought it straight out of service. Truck is very versatile with all the storage cabinets inside and out. Everything works (lights, siren, power plugs in the rear). Tires have less than 4k miles on them. New braking system from master cylinder, brake lines, and pads. $18k fully loaded with all tailgating equipment, can work on price a little if wanting it bare bones. Decals are a vinyl wrap that can be removed (picture with blue and gray stripes is how it looks without wrap). Serious buyers only. Being stored in West Des Moines. Pains me to put up for sale.12794377_971811552854695_9130295104871072934_n.jpg993376_565082143527640_414522772_n.jpg993365_565082126860975_2069927658_n.jpg373978_349842275051629_1184265907_n.jpg552552_413328282036361_1737259545_n.jpg67417627_2311097298926107_2692080884042956800_n.jpg12795318_971811546188029_5875702972946837343_n.jpg

Car Play Screen Shot

Any iPhone Shortcuts wizards out there?

Wondering if anyone would be willing to build (or help me build) a shortcut for me that works like this:

I say “Hey Siri Take Screen Shot”

The screen shot of my phone happens and IF there are 2 photos after the screen shot (meaning 1 of my phone’s screen and 1 of my car play screen) THEN the car play one is deleted and the phone one saved to my recents.

I’ve messed with this a TON and can’t figure it out.

I drive a lot for work and take a lot of screenshots of urgent messages to relay to team members and I’m so tired of dealing with the multiple CarPlay screenshots. I only need the phone one.

I’d be so grateful if anyone could do this or help me so it!

Texas and OU in the SEC

As I ponder these two competing in the future, what I’m hoping for is becoming clear.

I’m indifferent to Texas. I’m old enough to remember the Big 8 and that will always seem like what is right to me. We played similar schools from neighboring states. Texas being mediocre or poor competitively relative to their resources has been pretty cool. Shrug and good riddance.

For OU, I hope for nothing but failure. They could have stayed and anchored the conference as they’ve often done. To leave behind longtime conference mates and their state partner just effing sucks. May their success be permanently in the rearview mirror - kinda like Nebraska. That written, I’d love to be in a conference again with any Big 8 school.

Curious what you all think.

Who did you hate when they played, now you like?

I’d like to hear some stories about players you hated when they played (college or pro) but after retirement for whatever reason you now like.

I have 2 I can think of right now. Peyton Manning. I hated him in the NFL. I thought he was arrogant (he probably is) and just didn’t like him. Probably more so because he didn’t play for my team. Since then I find him funny and enjoy listening/watching his stuff.

Number 2 might upset some and trust me, I wish I could carry on the hatred. Dallas Clark. I hated him for obvious reasons. Especially when hated #1 was tossing TDs to him. I listened to a radio interview with him today and I have to say I think he is a dude I would get along with. He came back to Iowa to farm. Seems like a fun guy that is probably a lot like myself.
