XM/Sirius merger approved

Hah, I was wondering if it was what ch 198 used to be on XM, and sure enough it was. Talk about BORING radio, that was horrible. Nightcalls was the only interesting program, Juli is great!
Gee, I thought they could just cut Howards Stern's take home
in half and give him some more stock options. :biggrin:Sirius really could broadcast a lot more college sports and less hip hop IMO. :biglaugh: And the 20 weather station reports take up valuable satellite bandwidth. Siruis could do better with more resources. Old Howard pretty much ate their lunch.
Last Fall I bot the Lifetime subscription with Sirius. A couple of months later, I bot a new car that had XM. I let the XM run out and put my Sirius radio in my new car.

I have Sirius for football season and XM for Baseball season. Hopefully I can have it all on one piece of hardware soon.
The music is a wash for me since I only listen to the punk channel on each radio. Sirius just got their all punk channel not to long ago. XM has had a punk station for years.

I love the 90s on 9, Lucy (90s alternative) and a few of the unsigned artist channels on XM. as i said before, NFL is more or less the only reason I'd go to Sirus and I'm in no hurry to do that.
Can't stand that guy. It's always a relief when Kayla comes on octane in the midday.
I agree. I can't stand Ellis either. Octane is possibly the best music channel there is though.
XM did have a Led Zep channel...it has been cancelled for a few weeks now, I think
Just thought I'd pass a little info along about getting a deal on XM. My wife just bought a new car that has XM. We also have XM in an 04 Accord. I was going to call and cancel the XM on the Accord so I did a little reasearch before canceling
I called XM
At the prompts I chose "cancel service"
I got to a live rep and told her I wanted to cancel service
I mentioned that I got a letter a while back offering me $77/year (I lied)
She said that they can honor that offer.
I then told her that I wanted to add our new car for $6.99/month
So my total is now $161/year for 2 cars
I was paying $164/year for 1 car
If they ask you the coupon code (they didn't for me) it is ZWINBACK

+1. I have Sirius in my car. I fly a lot, and therefore rent a lot of cars. Most new cars that have sat. radio have XM. In other words, I have experienced quite a bit of both.
Music wise, I give the edge to Sirius, because of the DJ's and formats.
Sportswise, I give the edge to XM. I can watch or listen to the college and pro games I care about, but not the MLB games.
