Holy cow buddy, obsess much? Nebraska's addition of television sets to the Big Ten Network is due to its national following which I ALREADY said in this very thread is helped out by its long term athletic success. I never said it had NOTHING to do with it. My comment about "very little to do with athletic success" was specifically in regards to the original posters idea that Iowa State would be in the debate if we had some more success the past few years.
Additionally, the Big Ten is not interested in moving into the New York, St. Louis, and Kansas City markets because of those local teams long storied histories in football. Even the Notre Dame argument isn't as good because that University has a huge alumni base spread out over the entire nation.
And yet, your direct statement: "athletics has very little to do with it."

Why do both of these University's have a national following with a huge alumni following especially considering that their student enrollment is less than ISU's?
