In fairness to the writer, I assume her intent comparing losses of title contenders was more historic program strength, maybe not strength within that particular season (such as example of VT going 6-7, mentioned above).
If using history, of course ISU is going to land near the bottom. ... But merit for inclusion in playoff isn't based on "history." It's single-season. If OU finishes 12-1 w/ Big 12 title, it's hurt by this loss only if ISU ends up mediocre in 2017.

This times 1000. Going into that game people wrote us off thinking we had the talent profile of previous ISU squads. The talent infusion is starting to have an impact. QB is still crucial, and it was a tough week, but just stupid that we were 31 point dogs to this Oklahoma team.
My favorite part is that not a single ounce of credit was given to ISU.

I agree. Listening to CMC after the game, he's not satisfied. He is obviously a detail guy, and you can tell by listening to him that he expects to compete at a top level, and won't be happy until we can do it consistently. That along with his (and his staff's) energy is going to take us into new territory.

Difference between 1991 (when OU losing streak started) and now is we finally have a school administration that gives all available resources to our athletic department. It is quite embrassing how bad our administrative support was to the athletic department in the 90s and early 2000s. If you think it is another 27 years before ISU beats OU again you are sadly mistaken.
Probably work to, cause the "selection" is corrupt as hell. Might be another game , like that year, that I just skip watching.
In the ESPN history, no team that was a 30.5 favorite has lost - yes, it's the worst loss in the ESPN point-spread history.
**** Finebaum. We played close last year with this staff. We will be better next year most likely so their trip to Ames isnt a gimme either.
I guess I don’t remember all the background with this but I just don’t get how you can think that Gundy was lying after that outburst. Shows her ability as a sportswriter in my opinion.
And they had an inside track to the playoff, it was at home, and Iowa State was playing with a third-string QB. I can definitely see how this is their worst loss
In hindsight it should have been a lower spread and not considered the worst loss ever. We were close (should have been) 4-0 and the offense very good for 6 straight games, sans last week with a high school level game plan. Meanwhile, OU still has Mike Stoops.
And get them at home every other year. Yes, I realize our last two wins are in Norman.
