Your money is on a cheap tasteless beer. OH NOW, things are bad but NOT that bad!!!!!!!
Now realists are trolls. And here is a double birdie salute for you trolls!!
Doomsday posts and trollish comments .... Can one make the argument most of you are not Cyclone fans? Hmmm?
My money is still on PBR ... And I will support him through this one year nightmare. Why don't the rest of you go and support your paaaanthers and hawks and leave the heavy lifting to the rest of us?
So what if we do not lose anyone on offense? Last five games: 7 points, 27 points, 7 points, 17 points, 10 points. Next Year 17, 10, 20, 21, 14 points? We need to get better shoes, shiny helmets, and use the new influx of players to score like we need to win. Right now the other team could have ten players (hockey penalty) and I am not confident we could score. Just no consistency. We shoot ourselves in the foot quite often. You are right, it must be better next year. However, the offense last year was better.Saying this is the worst team ever just shows that many of you have no idea what the teams used to be like in the Walden years. We literally looked like a high school team getting off the bus. Sure, we had a few good athletes here and there. But, for the most part it looked like college kids versus high school kids. This team would absolutely destroy some of ISU's teams from the past based on athleticism alone. Go ahead and say I'm wrong but my guess is if you disagree it's because you were in Pampers during those years.
When CPR and the rest of the coaches were talking about the amount of athleticism on this team, they weren't lying. This team is athletic. But they are also so freaking young it's ridiculous. They are raw. They are out of position frequently because they don't have game experience. Yes, we have a few Seniors who will be missed on Defense next year. However, we don't lose anyone on offense that was #1 on the depth chart for the OU game except for Coleman/Gary but we have a lot of capable WR's coming in and it would be hard to argue those new guys aren't an upgrade (no offense meant to Coleman or Gary but we have some studs coming in at WR). We only have 3 guys listed #1 that won't be here for AT LEAST 2 more seasons.
What I am saying is everyone needs to chill out. Anyone who has played football knows how much difference a year of experience can make. Hell, look at Baylor. We beat them last year and now they are one of the best teams in the country. I'm really getting tired of all the criticism of this team as "the worst ever". How would you guys like it if your so called supporters were calling you out as the worst ever at whatever you do when you bust your *** every day to get better while sacrificing your body for an f'ing game. They don't owe you anything. These guys get injuries they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. (TRUST ME ON THIS ONE) For what? So a bunch of "fans" can call them losers?
Now realists are trolls.
On the offensive side of the ball there has not really been any improvement of players in the Rhoads era.
and not by much.So what if we do not lose anyone on offense? Last five games: 7 points, 27 points, 7 points, 17 points, 10 points. Next Year 17, 10, 20, 21, 14 points? Sure we went winless, but I don't see any 38 or 64 point beatdowns in there. Our 3rd worst loss this year (31 to OK State) is worse than our worst loss in '94 (28 twice to OU and Iowa). My coin is on this team being THE WORST. Earlier in the season, I thought this team was still better than the '03 team, but since then it has essentially morphed into the same team. '13 and '03 are the worst teams in ISU history if you ask me. Winless but not getting absolutely demoralized week in and week out is slightly better than 1 or 2 wins v.s. hapless opponents and then getting your *** handed to you all the other games.

We might not be the worst ISU team ever, but I'd definitely say we're the worst ISU team ever for the amount of talent that we have.
There were some really bad ISU teams in the past, but they didn't have any talent on them whatsoever. I do think this team has enough talent to have won between 4 and 6 games this year. So we might be the most underperforming team in ISU history.
I saw the win against Baylor in 97 when we had a 1-10 record. Baylor was noticeably bigger and faster at every position. Remember in 97 baylor was not a powerhouse 2-9 and there was still a huge talent disparity baylor >> ISU. This group of players has way more potential than the 97 team.I have to agree with this completely. there is a lot more talent on this team than a lot of Mac's first few team.
Bruce is someone who could consistently win.
I feel like a lot of the excuses and problems with our program from the 80s and 90s have been dealt with. We have good facilities, we have a dedicated fanbase, we are in one the premier conferences, we are on TV every week, we make a lot more money, etc. Yet we still see the same (or worse) results. With a loss next week, Rhoads falls behind Jim Criner's winning percentage. If he loses out, he will be behind Duncan, Criner, and McCarney, making him one of our worst coaches of the last few decades.
In the past, I though our coaching hires were poor, but our facilities and support were also not good. Now, I think our facilities and support are pretty good, but our coaching has simply not improved.
This year's team is bad. I'm thinking historically bad. What years were worse?
For those of you that think this is the worst team ever....never witnessed the Walden years. That was beyond terrible.
We may not have the talent or skill this year to compete at the level that we need, but I feel like we have the team spirit, great guys on the team, mostly good coaches, and an amazing Cyclone nation who will still show up and support a 1-9 team.
In the Walden era, you'd be luck to have 50 people in the stands for a November game against like Colorado.
I'll take this bad year and an the amazing Cyclone nation that CPR has helped build over any Walden year.
how many in the stands next year?
