Yes they will pay Diaz and Altuve their full salaries for the year but the players who are participating in the WBC are insured. So insurance will help the Mets and Astros pay for some of that salary

Pumped to see USA vs Japan! Great matchup. Nothing against any of the Latin American countries but playing them feels a lot like a big league game. Japan matchup is more unique.
