Watching USA on DVR right now. What a loaded roster, we should have a cakewalk out of pool C, When we get to Mami though, anything can happen.

Watched Venezuela v DR last night. Certainly scratched the itch of waiting for MLB to start. There was probably more talent on that field than any game last year except the All-Star game (which no one cares about). You can also tell that this is important to those participating.
It's almost a crime that Venezuela, DR & Puerto Rico are in the same pool. They are probably 3 of the top 5 (with US and Japan) and one will not make it out of pool play while a few other dreadful teams from other pools will.

Heck yeah. And besides the USA, I am rooting for this underdog squad full of amateurs. Great story.

They’ll need to win out in pool play. We have games against Canada and Columbia left
The USA isn’t going to win anything with the pitchers they have. All the top end pitchers in MLB (deGrom, Scherzer, Cole) said no. I can’t really fault them for it because it’s a big risk to throw high energy, high intensity innings before you’re ready and could get hurt and ruin your season. But I wish some had a little more pride in taking the opportunity to represent the USA
I agree. If a guy gets hurt, it could screw your career especially if you’re young. As a Twins fan, I wish Buxton would have played but his track record with injuries speaks for itself.
Kershaw wanted to pitch but insurance wouldn’t sign off on it.
