Thanks for the tip! The pricing was my experience as well. I've built one on their website probably 6 times now. By the time I get everything I want in the contractor saw, I'm already into the range of the pro saw.

Heads up for anyone looking to buy one...my buddy told me they do a sale every spring that includes a free mobile base with purchase (think that's a $250 upgrade).

A great tip a buddy of mine gave me about this, as well. I was looking into getting the 52" table extension on the SawStop and he pointed out that you'd only really need that for sheet goods. A track saw is just as good or better at ripping sheet goods, so no need to pop for the 52" extension.

Plus its another tool to own. I use mine a lot. Table saw now is used maybe for dados more than anything else.

If there's a tool I really wanted right now, it would probably be the Kreg Foreman.

I use pocket holes quite a bit and frankly, having to clamp down the little R3 jig gets pretty repetitive and time consuming.

I have a foreman, it's nice if you are doing a lot of holes. I use the 300 series jig Kreg jig the most these days though.
 
I finally got some projects finished up. First up is a medal display case for a fellow CFer. It took waaaay too long (sorry @runningcyfan). There were a couple versions to make it work but it was my fault for not thinking things totally through.

Maybe counts as a woodworking project. My wife and FIL ripped out a cabinet on a Saturday morning when I was at work. They were trying to move a cabinet and microwave over the stove but it led to all this. They didn’t remove a screw on the pantry and it tore out the side of the cabinet. This is the solution. The white stuff is all new.

Thanks! Nope, it’s just a regular red oak slab. Quartersawn is around double the cost and a 8/4 coffee table is plenty to begin with. It had a rippled grain that was tough to match but turned out pretty well I think. The end table top is made from a solid cutoff of the same chunk.
 
I made a trip to the woodsmith store today with the wife. I almost had her talked into letting me buy a spalted maple slab to build a coffee table with.

The wife relegates that stuff to the basement. Ive got just one ball signed by Fizer and Niang but even that’s not allowed.

There’s a few people here that know me (a few I’ve either done work or doing work for) but I’ll save plastering a giant cutout of my last name and pic of my wife and I on here. Especially since the only people in this country with my last name are related to me.
