I have been watching the timing of the snow all day...looks like is being delayed to start at around 11 pm now.
Lets hope for a nice convincing win we can leave early from tonight.
Would be nice to be back to dsm before things get too hairy.
I really like these timing maps. But they’ve issued 3 today all different.
Maybe just maybe that could because the timing has changed and if they don't update it some people will never let them hear the end of it?
I’m not complaining about. It’s just that the timing is so important for us tonight. I made plans based on the midday update that had things starting earlier. But this is good news
From Cedar Rapids, no dice. HWY 30 2-lane west of CR is a nightmare even when perfect.
I (We) are also leaning towards not going at this point (from 20 Miles East of DSM). They keep saying roads are going to get bad fast and if snow starts at 8 PM, it will be a mess by 10 when we come home Final call at 4PM. Hate giving up games but sometimes, safety wins

Based on how much CF$ I've given you lately, I'd say you know your odds pretty well.
Already snowing in Osceola. Guessing it will be starting a little earlier then anticipated in the metro.
WU and Weather.com don't usually align that well with NWS and the local stations.
Iowa State Meteogram is also coming in lower than the NWS forecast

Can I start the "I can't believe everyone left early" thread now to save time?
Correct me if I am reading that wrong, but doesn't that model(s) predict anywhere from 5 to 13"?
It's an all out cage match on our Facebook page because out graphic says 6 to 8 and somebody posted the NWS that says 8-10.

2" is gonna be like a whole 0.14" liquid difference. Who cares? Obviously there's gonna be a huge difference on the roads if its 8.6 instead of 7.2
