Will There be a Policy Change?

HB was from Ames and the child of an ISU employee. Probably was no way to prevent him from using ISU facilities as such, especially on main campus during unorganized team activities, like summer pick-up games (I will not even to pretend about knowing how the new facility fits in this scheme, and I would not know who would decide on what an appropriate policy would be for the new facility).

I like the fact you train future recruits so that they can leave this state and University and play for another college, while we fight to get recruits that dont use our facility....POLLARD....SHUT THE DOORS.....why train when they play Benedict Arnold - My coinpurse can only take so much.

ONLY players that sign a LOI should be allowed to use it...simple as that..

What if there is someone -- maybe an Ames High football player -- who wants to use our facilities, but isn't a recruit for ISU simply because he isn't quite good enough to get an ISU scholarship, so he will likely play somewhere else (like maybe Univ. of Nebraska-Omaha)?

You answered your own question

So, when does sooner or later come? More later than sooner is my guess.

The facilities are paid for by ISU fans, not North Carolina, Kansas or Duke fans. To have our facilities, and in turn, the ISU fans, used like this by HB should be the wake up call needed to close the doors to the outsiders. If you want in, you can commit to Iowa State.

But Harrison Barnes is an Iowa State fan lol:jimlad:

You realize our team probably got better by having Barnes play there as much as he did?
I certainly hope our team doesn't need high school sophs to improve. The amount of court time given to Benedict would have been better spent on an ISU player or recruit.

What about Doug McD?

He is committed to UNI. We actually PLAY against them... is he using the facility?

The new facility - don't know.

State Gym or anything else - don't think you can ban him from pick-up games (Ames resident and kid of ISU employee).

You can't be serious. I would guess Barnes would start on just about any team in the country right now. You seriously can't think him practicing with us didn't make us better.

I will lay money he wont start for UNC next year, maybe 2011 but not in 2010 reason Larry Drew (JR) and Dexter Strickland (SO) if they get better.....welll maybe not till he gets to his junior year or possibly his senior...Sure he will get playing time...but not enough for his taste...HE wants to be a starter...and I dont see that for a while

Nothing can be done about it now, and I do believe Ames students should be able to use our facilities, but now after his signing I don't beleive he should be allowed anywhere near our practice facilities. I doubt he's got the guts to show his face around there, but if he does I'd have campus security escort him to the first interstate heading southeast. Karma will bite him in the butt in the end.

He probably has a private jet that will take him to Chapel Hill and back......NOW

I wish Harrison the best of luck, but wouldn't do anything to help him get better... Our facilities should be used by Iowa State athletes and Iowa State prospects...
