Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

Id just like to hear the reasoning, trust me I’d love it to happen, but how? Are their media deals going to be voided from it? Are they not going to be able to pause any extra expenses for a year? Are their teams not going to be able to be competitive anymore somehow?

Their going to lose a significant amount of money and their teams will not be as competitive as it will hurt their recruiting. Not sure about media deals

I would generally agree with you but Iowa killing 4 sports from this makes me think twins is partially right. They have a 40MM bigger budget than us but killed 4 sports that cost a couple million combined.

I missed that, what sports? Permanently I’m assuming?

Iowa invested many millions into an impressive swimming facility not long ago and now they dump their men's and women's swimming programs. Ouch.

They can't afford to maintain the pool either. So they drained it and started the nation's first club teams for men's and women's extreme skateboarding and razor scootering.

Missed opportunity. Could have filled it with cornstarch and chicken stock and made it part of a basketball attendance promotion. First 200 people into Carver get to swim in the gravy pool with Fran.

Another thing you have to keep in mind is that the B1G Network is going to take a bath in this whole deal. Think of the advertising contracts they have sold and now you are losing fall sorts for sure and there is a real good chance b ball is gone too. Those companies are going to want to recoup some serious money. This is basically going to assure that the B1G gets dropped by most cable providers outside of the B1G footprint. Plus when the contracts expire, the cable companies will hold the leverage regarding how much they will be willing to pay to carry the B1G Network. This whole debacle is bad news for their future conference revenue.

May be a better one to say last 200 have to do it.

Back to the thread subject... at this point, can they reverse or is it too late?
Not too late, but they're not going to do it. Reverting just throws more gasoline on the dumpster fire.
