Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

What was this thread about again????
I don't think this was that bad of a thread derail, but these threads have to devolve into covid threads. Conferences are making their decisions based on COVID. So any thread about cancelling or not cancelling the season are going to eventually devolve into covid threads since that's the thing that really matters

I’m in the let ‘em play camp, but am definitely not confident enough about it to bash the B1G decision.

I do think it’s funny that schools that are playing are now accepting/admitting that college football is more important than in-person schooling. Would have been easier if they accepted it months ago.

Kevin Warren has been a godsend! Watching the meltdown of the little bro hoks has been too good to be true. It won't be long before he cancels basketball too. And wrestling. $100 million loss is beyond crazy. Let's hope Barta screws up some more and winds up paying out millions more for some stupid actions on his part.

The thought process for canceling football will still apply to basketball and wrestling, maybe more so since indoors. If that happens current meltdown just the tip of the iceberg.

What!?! You mean to tell me that all of the athletic directors were in favor of continuing to play athletics? Frankly, I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you!

Yeah, this was always going to be a presidential-level decision, and those presidents were always going to take more into account than just athletics when having to make that decision, making them more likely to cancel than the ADs.

If football is so important to universities and the communities, they would have found a way to make it work. Plans like keeping players in a bubble, remote learning for student athletes, minimize roster size, adhering to social distancing guidelines, day to day testing with expeditious results, mandatory masks, RAs hired by athletic departments to enforce the bubble environment, suspend players who violate, games played in empty stadiums, etc. All this is doable during a pandemic for one season in a multibillion dollar industry.

NCAA and/or all the conferences had many months to come up with a game plan and completely left it up to individual schools. The supposed leaders have completely shat the bed.
