Why is Tech so confident?

I will say that Texas "Should" have been split up in to 4 States when the states were finalized. If you took Iowa Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and called it "Iowa" we would have a lot of cities, recruiting and more too. Realistically Lubbock should be the capital of that large area of North West Texas. Your new capitals are Lubbock, Dallas, Houston and some city in the pan handle....fun to think about...lol

I was told once that if air-conditioning had not been invented that Texas would be vacant. I spent a week in FW/Big D when they were going through a 30 day 100+ degree event. It was brutal. Nothing was moving except lizards and scorpions. "Pity the Fool" who suggests that Lubbock is a superior location.
I don't understand threads like this. God forbid fans of Team X be confident in said team. Have any of you ever PLAYED football?
Hey, you should have stayed the entire 40+ days it was over 100 last year...made me appreciate the weather I used to have in Iowa. The fanbase isn't all that terrible, I have spent a lot of time in Midland/Odessa this year and see mostly Tech fans...most are friendly and don't have the attitude of the troll types on here. However I would agree, Lubbock is the armpit of West Texas for sure!
I live in the Panhandle buddy. Nobody from any other state would want any city here, especially Lubbock. It is the biggest hole of a location that I have seen. Its why Tubbs has to get his commitments before they visit.
I hate to defend Lubbock, but after you drive across northern New Mexico, even Lubbock seems beautiful. I felt awful sorry for the cattle around Lubbock though.
I don't know about that. I really enjoy the drive on US 87/64. Really cool terrain and Capulin Volcano National Monument is pretty cool. Seeing the Rockies from the top of Capulin is pretty freaking cool. Sorry, I'll never defend Lubbock.
I like the fact that these young Tech players are going to get punched in the mouth for the first time in Ames. They've only been scrimmaging the first 3 weeks. I think they'll be a better team later in the season, after they've adjusted to the physical play in the Big XII.
^^^I understand the refusal to defend Lubbock. We went across New Mexico on the interstate. Just littered with dive trailers and some of the poorest people I have ever seen. The trailers look perfect for cooking meth like on Breaking Bad, but the people around them look so impoverished, you just know they are no Walter White.

What does that have to do with your pathetic overconfidence. Lubbock is a dirty ****hole of a place.
LOL!!! Man, are all Tech fans that ignorant? Des Moines is way bigger. Lubbuck's metro is 1/3 the size of Des Moines. Look up a picture of downtown Des Moines and compare it to Lubbock and tell me which city is bigger and better. Heck Lubbock's tallest building is only 15 stories. Des Moines has 10 buildings taller than that, including the tallest at 45 stories.
