Why is Tech so confident?

I keep looking at their boards and the majority of them are convinced they are going to roll us. Why? They are mocking us for mocking them about their strength of schedule. Like it or not, it is a weak schedule. You may or may not be a better team than Iowa State, but please don't base it off of beating teams that you have played so far. Texas Tech could very could well beat us, but the confidence from their fans on their scout boards that it will be a blowout is ridiculous.

PS-

When you make fun of Ames, please remember that you are located in Lubbock

Just a reminder, Carl. If we all woke up in the morning and Lubbock was an exclave of Iowa, it'd instantly be your biggest city. Just remember that.

People who run around message boards, & especially people who are so interested in their team that they will spend time on an opponents message board are probably going to be confident about their team. But that's less than 5% of the fanbase. I bet there is a large % of Tech fans really nervous & not at all full of confidence going into this game.

Okay? So living in a big city means its better? I guess we should all move to Detroit by that logic

Let me clarify that MOST of the Tech fans on here have been reasonable and respectable. Whenever I read their Scout boards though, they think they are the Longhorns

I think the obnoxiousness found on ESPN and Scout boards are due to youthful exuberance, feeding off the positive output of their three wins. The Leach-like swagger still exists deep down and is oozing for venting by some of the braggerts.

I sense the mature fan on both sides sees this as an unknown toss-up at this point. I'm glad it's at The Jack and looking for the good guys to play well and win it at home.

They are just running a distant third to Hawks and Nebraska as most obnoxious football fanbase. Kentucky basketball eclipses them all though.

i went to texas once. bought a bottle of jack. they gave me a free 9mm voucher and automatically registered me to vote for rick perry. went home.

Cleveland and Detroit would also be the largest cities in Iowa. Doesn't make them more appealing. Lubbock is truly one of the least interesting, most remote and worst places I have ever been (and unfortunately have been there a few times), so why try to bash anywhere else? I far prefer even Midland/Odessa to Lubbock because they at least have personality. Ames/Des Moines is a far better place, has far more population and more to do, so don't ever slam any city when you're made of Lubbock, let alone a decent and up coming place like Central Iowa.

I'm not really sure what city size says about anything. Although, one would think we could all agree that Lincoln is not on any of our favorite vacation lists.
