Why has CMC stayed in Ames?

How did Iowa’s opener go this week?
Well, for starters, we didn’t get our asses handed to us by a Sun Belt conference school. Could’ve been worse for you tho. If it wasn’t for COVID it might have been South Dakota that ruined your day.

Well he should be in Ames a long time then, these teams aren't coming calling with the '19 season performance, and that turd he dropped yesterday vs Louisiana.

I think that is a good thing for ISU. CMC should be a very consistent 6/7 wins a year coach for a long time in Ames.
Imagine coming to your rivals fan page after you have been MIA for months on here, "ironically", during the time that your coach and staff was outed as being racist. Had a review come which also proved they were racists, and then were never fired. Only to reappear after you're rival plays an actual game while your team has no future for the 20-21 season. My god you are ******* pathetic.

I missed you too.

Some hawk trolls in here are acting like Iowa never lost games to teams like Western Michigan, Central Michigan, North Dakota State etc none of which will probably end up having as good a season as Louisiana will in 2020. At least we lost to NDSU when they had Wentz.

To the question the OP is posing, I'd say I agree on the community take you had, but also I think he wants to build a name for himself and he's a perfectionist, so he isn't going to move on until he feels like he's done enough. I'm not sure what the bar is, but he may be lowering it after last Saturdays performance. The market will cool on him in a hurry if this keeps happening and he'll end up coaching a position group down in the gulf of Florida or something

yeah, i'm kinda confused on the "perfectionist" and "margins" dichotomy when talking about CMC.

This is a good take. It is different than views I have heard from others. I have great respect for people who are focused on "perfecting" their chosen craft. Thank you for sharing some insight.

Time will tell if he knows how to coach well enough to address the "margins", but at least he knows it needs to be a focus.

At least TOE has an incredibly blind, I mean supportive fan base.

Some fans of every team are incredibly blind. The ISU fan base is a great fan base in the aggregate. IMO, it is likely why Pollard cares so much and why CMC could spend his career in Ames. ISU also has some fans that are "blinded" by their fandom.

For the most part, both fan bases are intelligent and respectful toward one another. Others, not so much.

Where do see yourself in this regard?

I have to give Gonzo credit here. No only did Iowa invent wearing black, which we all know they did, but in this post he also claims that they started focusing on TEs, OL play (a real doozy), and (my personal favorite) the QB sneak. Bravo my friend, mid season form.
