Who Would Win...?

I think it is a serious question, and I think they would go to the 7th game of a best of 7 series. This of course assumes the Celtics had played together all year, and the Redeem Team with only their limited number of practices.

If I had to pick, I'd say Redeem, but it would be MUCH closer than people think.

IMO, Lebron can guard him, as can Dwight. Lebron only gives up 2 inches, and he is just as strong. (Lebron is freakishly strong. I remember a quote from an NBA vet something along the lines of Lebron is the 2nd strongest player in the NBA, besides Erik Dampier.)

I thought Lebron was like 6'8" now? I believe the strength thing. The guy is just an absolute specimen.

On a side note, I know Kobe has had problems in the past, but I think he and Lebron are doing a great job as Olympians. Sounds like they are interacting with other athletes quite a bit, and I know they hung with Phelps' mom at a race. Cool to see world superstars like that just be people kinda like us.

If you just put the redeem team together and had them play the celts after the playoffs, it would be a tough series. If they played after the olympics, the redeem team would destroy them. They just need time playing together.

I agree with that. Those guys are being great representatives of the U.S., not the pampered athletes that we've seen in the past or expected to see. I like seeing them get into the olympics and not acting like they are better than everyone else.

Redeemers and it isn't even close.

Is this question coming from the same people screaming that the rest of the world has caught up to us in bball? They haven't caught us, we just failed to get our best players to play, failed to consider the differences in international ball when building the team, and had a bunch of selfish guys out there putting themselves before the team.

This team has dominated in the Olympics and would do the same to any team in the NBA. A game against the Celtics would probably look much like the Olympics games so far, the Celtics could probably stay close early, but the fact that Team USA keeps bringing in all-star after all-star off the bench really drains opponents. An NBA team would just lack the depth to hang around for a full 48.... or 40 if you were playing international rules.
