Who should we replace SDSU with?

I think this conversation is going to escalate big time on October 14th. Just my opinion, but I think we are going to be 1-5. And before I get ripped for saying that...There is not a whole lot of teams that would be much better than 1-5 playing this schedule. that is just a fact.
@ iowa, Akron, OU, @TCU, @OSU and WVU.
Basically ISU having to win the last 5 (which I think is possible) to make a bowl.

I hope we can swing a few major upsets again.

I will not walk everybody through the math again.

But working backwards from the Las Vegas spreads and other power ranking models, we have something like a 30% chance of going 1-5.

OU and TCU are really hard games.

OSU (on the road) and WVU (even at home) are not much behind.

Our chance at bowl eligibility took a HUGE hit with that SDSU cancellation, but you just have to man up and get to 6 wins or stay home IMO.

Hopefully if at some point this year both ISU and Nebby realize they aren't going to be in their conference championship game, and then something can be worked out. That's our best hope.

Prairie View A&M! Prairie View A&M!!!

The name gives me visions of Little House on the Prairie with a football team.

Surprisingly, there's a ton of $ going through that school right now. They're doing tons of upgrades all over the place.
Also a surprise, it's in Texas and exists as part of the A&M University system.

They also sent me a flush letter because they don't really teach much U.S History. Let's sign them up and crush them.

Bring on Hampton - We can get revenge for basketball by lighting them up in football!

If we get Hampton....

Damn. I guess we didn’t have a chance last year then, either.

I am about as big of a Cyclone fan as you are going to find, and I love a good "life is a game of inches" rah rah halftime speech as much as everybody.

Nonetheless, Las Vegas and computers models are not stupid.

We have about a 12% chance to beat Oklahoma. We have about a 19% chance to beat TCU. We have about a 2% chance to perform the same sweep again.

Could happen. I would love it if we did, particularly because Oklahoma is one of the two games this season that I am going to see in-person for sure.

I went to every home game for six seasons in Ames, and the largest upset I probably ever saw was 23-3. Beating #5 OU on Saturday would take the cake. :)

The cold logic here is about making a bowl game, though.

Neither game is a dependable W or even a toss-up.

Based on Hurricane Florence, Gardner-Webb, Kennesaw St, Hampton, Savannah St, Georgia, Virginia Tech, and South Carolina may all be looking for makeup games.

FWIW: Savanna St is currently 0-2 with 127 points against and 0 points for. While this loses where to FBS teams, their complete lack of competitiveness makes me think they are not FCs playoff contenders.
