Jamie Pollard needs to answer some serious questions. Iowa State fans deserve better than the **** storm he has provided lately

My guess is that Cael left due to limited scholarships. IF it is true that there is more talent in Pennsylvania and they want to wrestle at Penn State, Cael's scholarship budget would stretch further due to no or little out-of-state tuition. Potentially he could have many walk-ons and save his scholarship money for a few studs. Heavens knows he had the attention of the best when he was here but he probably didn't have the scholarship money to get them all.

The problem is that he will only tell what he stated in the PR. That's why CS needs to come out and say what happened... but, like I said before, no more comments will come out of it, from JP or CS... and that sucks.

People can continue to make excuses for Pollard but his management of coaches has been miserable. Coaches leaving out of the blue, controversial firings, untimely (unearned) extensions, etc. Is everything his fault? Absolutely not, but he's the guy calling all the shots. All these incidents' aren't "bad luck." Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Great fund raiser, helluva nice guy from any interaction I've had with him in person or email but very questionable AD overall.

You know, you may have hit on something there. I still cannot believe the NCAA only allows 9.9 scolarships for wrestling. That is not even a full team! I know while Gable was at EIU, they got in trouble in how they were divying up there 'ships to give them an edge. Notice the NCAA did not take away their NC trophy's.

Well i will now almost cheer for iowa at least once a year now. more if they meet up other than just conference tourney time.

I was never sold on Cael's coaching during the match. He's a great recruiter, but i dont think we will fall off too far.

Jamie Pollard

Cael left a place where he finished 2nd, 5th, and 3rd in the NCAA's for Penn State. He left a place where he loved, where his wife is from, where is brother wrestles, and where he was the highest paid coach in the country. He left it all for Penn St, a school that probably isn't close to Iowa State in wrestling tradition.

He says he is going there b/c there is more talent (BS) but YET he is going to try and bring his recruits?!?!? Interesting

He says he has a better chance at winning a National Championship there. Even though ISU has won more than PSU and he was close to winning it the past 3 years!!! Interestin

It is all PR and it smells of BS. He isn't going to come out and say he hates Pollard and Pollard won't say that either. How do you not keep a legend like Cael happy???!!??!!
we dont know for sure that cael has said any of those things. all we know is that pollard said "these are the reasons he is leaving"

PSU guy who just managed to wander into the cyclone.

First, without rubbing salt in the wounds, I couldn't be happier with the hire. Perhaps the most exciting thing for me is the opportunity PSU & Sanderson has to finally "lock down" the fertile recruiting base which exists in PA & NJ. Guys, a lot of you just have no idea how much prep talent exists in those 2 states alone. Every year PA leads D-I in All-Americans. This year 4/10 NCAA Champs from those 2 states, including the Hodge Trophy winner (Not 1 was at PSU.)

I have been a long suffering PSU fan watching the best of PA talent help lead other Midwestern schools to prominence (or garner AA honors at Pitt, Edinboro, Lock Haven, Penn, Lehigh, etc...) Goes the whole way back to one of your best ever, Nate Carr. I look for Cael to break the chain of my frustration. He could start by pulling in some of PA's junior prep class, which is sick.

Obviously the money was a major consideration in his decision. Maybe he and the AD were at odds. However, being the type of motivated individual I envision this guy to be, I can't help but think the opportunity to recruit this kind of talent as "the big kid on the block" played a huge role in his decision.

Anyway, hope ISU lands on its feet, and while I wouldn't trade our new guy, think Rob Koll is an outstanding coach.

I think all athletes get charged instate tuition at ISU, no matter where they are from, Gene Smith got that changed
.
Have heard that JP and CS had some sort of heated argument and Cael pretty much told him that he was done. .

What was the argument about.
