It just seems to me that the staff is going a different direction with their WR recruiting. They want guys that can make someone miss. Their outside guys need to either be burners or guys that can block for the bubble screen or both...neither of these are Jennert's strong point. I could see them using Donnie in jump ball situations (third and long or red zone), but I have a hard time seeing where he fits in outside of that.
We have been recruiting a lot of slot receivers. Might have something to do with us having guys like Secrick Johnson and Jenhart already who are more outside guys.
I think there is always a place for a big possesion guy. They have been recruiting a lot of slot types because they are looking for some players who can bust a game open. You still need a big guy now and then to move the chains and earn their keep in the red zone. I think Jennert has a lot of potential and from what I have seeen of him so far, he looks like he runs good routes and has decent quickness and straight line speed. If he keeps the work effort up, I think he will contribute in a few years at the latest.
