Where does Bates go now?

dont worry, youre not the only one who doesnt understand a little bit of fun sarcasm on a friday afternoon. (see post above)

as for not watching football much...you do know that gill is the head coach at buffalo right. and its solich at ohio. just checking.

Sorry, long day,

What I meant was that Buffalo was another school rumored, and Bates Sr. knew Turner Gill, but now he is in line for a better job, so that narrows his choice to Ohio.

yes i reread your post and figured it out...since editted mine. long story short... i dont think its nebraska, michigan, florida or any other school of the sort. i think that Phil Sr. thinks these are possibilities. i think ohio.

What he ought to do is wait a month and a half or so and see if Turner Gill gets the Syracuse job. If he does (and in my opinion, he deserves it) Phillip can transfer there and play for a Husker legend in the Big East (primarily a running league). He would have to sit out year one of the Gill era, but would have a chance to start in years two and three. There really isn't a big time power in the Big East right now, and Bates could be part of a Syracuse resurgence.

If he is smart and really wants to play QB he needs to look at schools that have a junior as a starting QB that will NOT go pro and no stud QB's redshirting this year. It would definately be in his best interest to go out of conference too, to play two years.

Sooooo, of the decent programs that fit I see
Penn State
Illinois
South Florida
Ohio
Syracuse (BCS but not decent)
Wake Forrest
Miss St.
Indiana

First Wesley Johnson and then Phillip Bates...I think I would have to hate Syracuse if that actually happened!

I can't see him starting at Penn St, Illinois, Wake, or South Florida.

I honestly see I-AA or DII all over it. Kind of sad when you have someone with the talent he has and he wants to waste it on trying to play a position he can't play well.

Ohh Nebraska will take him alright..

For just one year? I can't even see the question arising. He'll transfer to a non Big XII school, have a year to redhsirt and learn the offense, and two (hopefully) to start.

For whoever keeps tossing Michigan ouy there, they have not one, but two talented commits right now that he'd spend his redshirt season watching. I don't think that's gonna happen, either.

He'll go where he wants to. If he was smart, he'd apologize to his teammates, and beg Coach Chizik to let him stay in Ames. I don'y think that'll happen, either.
