Where does Bates go now?

If I were him, I would go to Georgia Tech...

Bingo. He would be a monster. I doubt that Paul Johnson would take a player who quits in the middle of the season, though.
Of course, there are more than a few Nebraska fans who think think that TO should have hired Johnson instead of Pelini. I work with one...

well there are the talks about michigan and nebraska... which are hard to put down at this point. sure it doesnt really make sense to transfer within the conference or to a school who will be bringing in a stud qb to start next year. but then again it doesnt make sense to leave a program in the middle of the season so who knows.

my other thought is ohio. that is somewhere he probably could play qb and start when he gets eligability back. you better believe, if nothing else, solich has been or will be in contact with jr and sr. but sr knows his boy is too good for a school in the mid american conference.

finally, i thought that just crossed my mind...florida. maybe they just miss Mac. and florida would be a caliber of school that sr would be satisfied with, well, as long as pb was promised to start when tebow leaves.

I didn't think of Ohio. That would be a pretty good fit for him. I assume that Solich was keeping an eye on his high early school career when he was at Nebraska. As far as the NFL, his only chance is to move to WR or safety.

Ohio is my guess too. That program has Nebraska ties with Solich, as you said, and he could probably go there and start.

You cant be serious about Florida. If the guy cant start here what makes you think he can start there. Mark my words its going to be UNI or UNO. Book it

I don't see Georgia Tech at all. Paul Johnson is a hard ***. If his feelings got hurt here, that is nothing to some of the tirades that I have heard come from Johnson. Plus, I would think that it would be too far away from home (good for him, not so good for his father).

His dad played for Solich when he was a position coach at NU, and was good friends with Gill. Ohio and Buffalo are the only logical destinations.

Off the message board....PLEASE!!

was this directed at me? if so, care to explain what you disagree with instead.

the florida comment was obviously sarcasm, simply pointing out that Sr. thinks his son should and could be starting qb for any program in the nation. not MY opinion, im stating HIS.

as for everything else, it is completely legit. so i restate, please explain what parts you disagree with.

Wow. You don't watch a lot of football, do you???

Florida might take him as a d-back, maybe. Never a QB. I doubt that he will play in a BCS conference, so Ohio it is (Gill will get a better job).

You do realize that he played on a 2-3 team, and couldn't start, right? So to expect him to be the heir apparent to Tebow, is probably not realistic.
