Whoever we go with, we need to keep the same offensive gameplan. When Kempt was in there Manning and the coaches did a good job calling plays that never really put him in a position to fail.

That responsible, hard working, walkon, small-town Iowa farm-boy Kempt epitomizes ISU.![]()
We haven't been losing to because of Park though.
If I had my way Park would be fully 'recovered ' and we would use him similar to how we used Kempt. Park can play like Kempt with the added bonus of more arm strength, and has, when the staff demands that.
No one has said he was blameless, but Park hasn't been the problem and Kempt wasn't the answer.I blame the game plan against Texas for a lot, but to say that Park was blameless in that game is silly.

Kempt's teammates stepped up and it had very little to do with Kempt vs Park. CMC told the guys they needed to, for good reason. The blocking, catching, and play calling needed to get better.
But was Park asked to do that or did he take it upon himself to go out and try to win the game all by himself?
You're inferring a hell of a lot with that statement. Who's to say they didn't rally around Park's situation and win one for the gipper? Just as likely. What does it say about Park if his teammates didn't step up for him?

It would say more about his teammates, but Park didn't play yesterday so you're in fantasy land. What does it say about Park if his teammates didn't step up for him?

Holy assumptions Batman...
JSB, I love you. I think you're great in the cave. If you're ever in the Twin Cities, let me know, we can hook up. But your history of sports theories have been traditionally awful.
I mean the team did vote him as a captain. I think they step up for him. What does it say about Park if his teammates didn't step up for him?
I'm mainly playing devil's advocate. I don't think Park is as good as a lot of people do. But I do think he is the coach's choice and probably the best choice. But I think it is an interesting discussion to have.
And my comment about the players wasn't meant as anything that bad, but I was a tiny bit surprised that he wasn't really mentioned by them in the post game interviews.
I don't know if the result would have been different but they for sure would have given it to DM a lot more and that's what makes this offense go. And that's the difference from the offense against UT vs OU.Yeah parks never made a nice throw.
Guys, get real. Park is an NFL caliber QB. Kempt did what he needed to do because that’s what backups are for. When Park is 100% then he’ll play.
Can you imagine a Texas game with Kempt??
