When to cheer for the Hawkeyes?

I don't understand the absolute hate for Iowa. Grew up watching their games on TV occasionally because ISU was NEVER on TV. Going to ISU for so many years and talking to enough of their fans makes me hardly ever want to root for them.
HOWEVER, if they go on to play the Ultra schmucks from tOSU, Notre Dame, or any nationally slobbered over SEC team (Bama, Florida, LSU, etc.) I will go ahead and root for Iowa. Chances like this don't come around very often for us in flyover territory. Plus, many of the people that consider this flyover territory can't even tell the difference so it may help us slightly.

Nope not gonna cheer. Sick of hearing how they're so amazing with their schedule. Give isu that schedule we are bowl eligible. Not saying they are not good but give them our schedule and theyre probably 7-3 or 6-4
Note that I started the thread with acknowledgement of my desire to hate all things Hawkeye . . . but I was starting to feel a bit torn . . . I thank my Cyclone pals for bringing me back to appropriate levels of Hawkeye disdain.
I keep waiting for you to tell the ones that say they'll support Iowa to have a seat and ask them if they'd like a cookie before asking them why they're here. This thread should be called To Catch A Hawkeye.

I don't root for Iowa... ever. That said, i pretend to not care in front of my Hawk fan family members. They live and die with the Hawks just like I do my Clones, so I honestly feel their pain sometimes. These are people I care about and don't want them to be miserable. BUT... I secretly smirk inside when they get their guts torn out with a tragic loss. I can't help it.
I'm just not a doosh about it, but sometimes it is hard to try to console them... "Hawks played well but were unlucky... Refs sucked... etc." when i am fighting like hell to not blurt out HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I grew up in a Hawkeye family and was a fan myself until I was old enough to make my own decisions. I still cheer for Iowa, but it's hard because the majority of their fans are d-bags.
Theyd be 4-6. Theyd lose to Toledo, Oklahoma, Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma State and probably Texas. Not sure where you'd see the 6 or 7 wins.
Them losing out helps us here. We don't need them poaching what few good recruits the state and midwest have. Iowa is still a bottom half P5 team, but having this kind of year sucks for us and helps them big time. Giving them mega pub.
You were cheering because an ISU win would have knocked OSU out of the playoff picture.
Hawk fans have come here in increasing droves to troll and annoy as the season goes on and wonder why we don't want them to ever win.
Make this same thread on HN I'm sure 99% of hok fans would say they would never cheer for Iowa State.
