Never said anything different. It's comical how the MSM doesn't show what is happening in the mining of REM.Same with oil.

That is 'normal' for most front wheel drive vehicles with unequal length driveshafts. I don't know if the Bolt falls into this group, as do the vast majority of front wheel drive vehicles, but I would bet money that it does.An update on my 2023 Chevy Bolt.
.... When stomping on the accelerator, there is a noticeable pull to the right.

So much to unpack here...Never said anything different. It's comical how the MSM doesn't show what is happening in the mining of REM.
It's called torque steer and is more pronounced in FWD vehicles. It also gets worse as engine torque increases. That is 'normal' for most front wheel drive vehicles with unequal length driveshafts. I saw a YT video on the Pebble. No details just that it got a lot of interest at the CES show. So it could easily be prototype. It is intriguing technology to incorporate an EV motor/battery pack in the RV to assist an EV tow vehicle. Plus having a substantial battery pack in the RV would be great when parked off-grid.Not sure where else to put this. Some great innovation and tech that is being parlayed from EVs to now RVs. My concerns are it doesn't specify an RV layout and amenities and then the price point...ouch.

Long answer for it's all ******. Does that make u feel better? Did I say anything to the contrary? Do a test: ask 20 people if drilling for oil is bad for the environment or have u ever seen REMs ever mined? Let me know if you ever do this. Thanks. So much to unpack here...
First off, I am being prejudicial, but you out yourself when you invoke "MSM" and that has set me off.
First off, does the MSM need to show the localized effects of rare earth mining? What would be the news purpose? I guess the MSM could do a comparison of the localized effects of the natural environment post-mining and compare green technologies to oil technologies. I think we all know it would be a wash. No news there.
But really, does that matter?
Let me break something down for you. Energy companies, be they oil, coal or green, don't care. In the end, it is money. Oil/coal companies are diversifying. They are investing lots of money into energy production. Green and oil/coal alike. They are all trying to get their hands on the Salton Sea area to exploit its vast amount of rare earth minerals. And if you can mine for oil/coal, you can mine for rare earth materials. The technologies are not that different.
The only ones who are getting offended are those that think the situation is zero-sum. Those that think for every electric vehicle that is purchased, one ICE is being put out to pasture. As if the oil or the engine cares. That may be the way it is for some. For most Americans, we are trying to make it work for our resources and lifestyle, and if in the long run it is a net positive to the environment, then it is a bonus.
There are those that try to make a statement with their choice of vehicle. Be it that they buy American, electric, Ford, Chevy, Ram, diesel or others. I understand that. There are those that think the vehicle they drive defines them. I did without even consciously knowing it (and having to come to grips with that).
Maybe that is what offends me about your statement. You judge others because you think they choose an electric vehicle because it saves the earth. All the while you know the truth because you watch something the rest of us don't. As if you are clued into something the rest of us can't even fathom.
And there it is, the real reason I am pissed off with your statement. You come onto this site expressing your grandiose wisdom, truth and knowledge. But really, you're scared. People have differences. People have choices. They are not your choices or the ones you would make and they are not like you, and you don't understand it. So you judge them as less than you.
Get over yourself.
I don't know you and you don't know me. We might get along if we met face to face. If you said something to me like you did in your quoted response, I wouldn't have responded, but I would think about it a lot in retrospect. I am hiding behind a screen name and finding courage I wouldn't find in real life. I am sorry for that. I feel bad for judging you based on one sentence.
I am being the idiot who catches up to racers on the highway to yell at them about how unsafe they are driving. Telling them they should be ashamed. I apologize to those that read this post and feel they have wasted their time.
I'm curious if the trailer brakes have regenerative braking like most other EVs have. Seems like another way to be efficient instead of wasting that energy on heat that is just disapated.I saw a YT video on the Pebble. No details just that it got a lot of interest at the CES show. When scrolling down the link, looks like there is a dinette/desk area/convertible bed at tail end and kitchen/storage/bathroom in middle.
Perfect! I'd love to upgrade my Rivian in 10-15 years with a Mr. Fusion! :-DI would expect what you say to be true, just based on economies of scale and technology research in EV battery composition.
But there is also the potential in 10-15 years current battery technology could be obsolete. DeLorean Motor Co. may come out with the flux capacitor.![]()
What’s your peak electrical rate now? When gas hits $5/gallon or higher there's no ICE vehicle that's a good universal solution either unless someone likes burning money.
We're chasing unicorns here.
What’s your peak electrical rate now?
Just saw some complaints from pg&e customers on the peek rate going to .34 cents in a PHEV group I’m in, guessing those will keep going up due to wildfire liability?.25 kwh is the overall average but I don't know peak (actually burbank but LA isn't that different). I think that's actually a little higher than the national average but our gas prices are way higher than national average.
I do the vast majority of driving in the electric range (or that range with a second charge) of a PHEV. Probably save several hundred a month easily, especially during the spikes when it gets to $6/gallon or higher. I end up filling gas once every month or two unless I take a long road trip. If i look at the year before I charged car and year after I charged car was consistently about $30/month more on my bill to switch to driving mostly electric, I'm guessing if I had a pure EV with all electric miles it would have been $40 a month for all my charging.
Right now everyone is talking about how prices gas are "low" again but it's still around $4.80 here so I figure that's just the new bottom. It's really hard for me to stomach the idea of a new gas only car even if I loved creating carbon emissions and was thinking pure pocket book.
In the ten years I've lived here the % of renewable electricity in the grid has skyrocketed, the number of electric cars has skyrocketed, yet the number of electrical blackouts has decreased radically despite record setting heat several summers. It's a big reason why I laugh off a lot of the hysteria. The opposite of the fearful hysteria is happening here for various reasons as we actually do this stuff in real life right now, not hypothetically in the distant future.

Definitely not, I think they neglected maintenance for way too long.I would think most of the west is already into that pricing but who knows.

Latest proposed PG&E rate hike could push average monthly bill over $300
Homeowners across the Bay Area have seen their power bills climbing, but the latest request for an increase will reach a historic milestone -- more than $300 for the average monthly PG&E bill.www.cbsnews.com
“PG&E insists the increases are necessary to meet the demands placed on them for wildfire prevention and upgrading the safety and performance of the power grid. They say the money will be spent on undergrounding power lines in high risk fire areas, replacing gas pipelines, deploying new gas inspection and leak detection equipment and upgrading the grid to meet the demands of electric vehicles and more electric usage. “From other reasons or the fire situation 5 years in?
My home is pretty efficient luckily. AC maybe 60 days a year and heat almost never if you don’t mind mid 60s. I don’t have any windows or walls that get direct sun, they are north/south.
