Weekend summary...

Rumblings that Iowa will get both Farniok and Jackson. Supposedly there is another recruit who may not qualify, opening up a spot to take both tackles.

that is taking full advantage of a great year, tough for us cyclone fans to see that, but truth. i don't think we ever had a chance with farniok, but jackson would have been great. i can state, however, that i have never been more hopeful in our football program than right now. i feel campbell and crew are what we need, and if so, will be here for the long haul.

Not really, considered more than 80% of their class was committed before the season started. 2017 class is where they should reap benefits of the season they just had.

Too bad most of the kids will remember that Rose Bowl appearance more than the 12-0 regular season.

This is a Iowa State football recruiting thread. Iowa recruiting news and prospects should be kept to in state rivals. I want to read about Iowa State visitors and recruits not a page full of Iowa recruits. I don't mind if you say something like so and so committed to Iowa, but I have no interest in Iowa recruits going on visits.

The recruit being discussed visited for Big Monday but seems to be an Iowa lean. His recruitment by Iowa directly relates to us getting or not getting him.

My post addressed Jackson and Farniok, both of whom have offers from Iowa State, and contained derogatory or inflammatory remarks.

True. The hangover from that Rose bowl debacle will last awhile, and could easily affect a top recruit's decision. I doubt they will be able to make a nice step up in their recruiting until they stop getting embarrassed in their bowl games.

For the people who keep asking about number of scholarships, it's possible to over recruit and weed them out in spring ball. I know that will hurt some feelings but that's the way it always used to be.

Do you blame them?

Everyone thinks Allen is headed to Michigan but maybe not. I think it's the most likely scenario, but I hear he had an amazing visit to Ames. He lived in Ames as a kid and is an ISU fan. He hung out with EJ Bibbs at the KU game and would love to be able to attend ISU basketball games on a regular basis. Is it enough to sway him away from Michigan?

Hopefully this tweet from Sage helps.

"Harbaugh is crazy. Riley is getting fired after this year. Iowa State has the best young coach in college football."

Uh, you know, JP it appears tries his damndest to do good things for ISU. Looks like he did a superb job luring CMC to ISU. I'm a JP fan, have never posted a bad thing about him, because IMO he gives it his all. Not right every time, for sure, but he swings the bat with velocity. Great job, JP, just a great job.

He's doing a lot better now that he was forced to use a hiring agency, rather than the hires he was making before. Coaching "searches", and retaining good coaches was his downfall. He's been great at everything else.

JP is one of the best ADs out there. He could have his pick of jobs if he wanted to. What he has done for this athletic department since being here is insane. People give him crap about coaches he has hired but that is only after the coaches didn't work out. The chiz hire was great at the time. He was a top up and comer. The CPR hire started out really well too. When he started with 3 bowl games in 4 years nobody was complaining. He also is the one responsible for hoiberg and MC now....

I comlpletely agree. 10 years ago did any of us think that ISU would be able to recruit using facilities and consistent football sell outs.
