Weather forecast for UNI game

Makes me curious, is there a database anywhere with game temperature records?

Fans have good memory of the most extreme heat/chill games, but it's informal.

There's no public facing database that I'm aware of, but they do keep track of temperatures at kickoff in game notes posted on cyclones.com.

Looking at the game notes from 2013, UNI was "92 degrees, the warmest kickoff temperature in Jack Trice Stadium history." KU was "8 degrees, making it the coldest game in Iowa State history."

I'm fairly sure the cold-weather record still stands, I don't recall if anything has beaten the warm-weather record. Nor do I know if there was ever a warmer game at Clyde Williams.

Can't speak to your personal situation but 2013 was the hotter game. And I'll have to correct my earlier posts, because actually that was the hottest game in ISU history. I'm not sure if that record has since been beaten.

I missed the 2013 game. Got stuck umpiring a slow pitch national tournament and missed the David Johnson game...

That was a crazy day. Was a little toasty during tailgate then you could see the storm building in the West as the game started. Got a good downpour and everyone huddled under the overhang on the concourse and the rain stopped but the lightning would not go away. We were checking the radar on our phones and could tell the front was just sitting on top of us and was backbuilding in the West still so we made the call to head to the car and get out before the next round came. Just started heading south on South Dakota Ave and it just poured all the way home and heard on the radio they called the game so luckily made the right call to leave when we did.

On that morning I woke up with an overloaded schedule. Had a hs football game to coach in the morning, a wedding and reception starting at 3 and tailgating for the big game.

Well, storms cancelled our football game.
I drank too much and chose to go to the Iowa St game over driving to the wedding
And then the game gets canceled too.

So basically all of my plans beyond getting drunk were canceled

No, that was 13 I think. 15 was Campbell's first game

15 was actually Paul Rhodes still. He got fired after the debacle in Manhattan that year then Campbell was hired a couple weeks later at the end of '15.

It had to have been hotter than 88 at the 2015 game? Or maybe that was the temp at 7 for kickoff. Either way I'm pretty sure it was in the mid 90s that day tailgating. I usually don't get heat symptoms for 88 degree weather but I had some heat exhaustion symptoms on the way home that night.

This reminds me that the hottest ISU game in recent memory and the coldest ISU game in recent memory both took place in the same season.

No ****...that wouldn't make any sense..If you can't beat UNI no matter when you play them your in for a long year in the Big 12.

Yeah, still a bit of a crapshoot forecasting out that far but it was projected at 87 a couple days ago and now it says 91. I don't care for that trend at all.

Add a new one: play it at night, because with TV dictating every start time there's no guarantee we'll get another night game the rest of the season.

Though the argument is moot anyway because TV dictates even the nonconference games now.
