I'm sorry but that's incredibly frustrating and frankly ******* stupid for a group to push back because they aren't supportive of NIL. Bring it to the group and do what you can and if you personally don't believe in NIL then don't donate. Out of state alumni groups should be the biggest supporters of the collective since they mostly aren't buying season ticketsGreat ideas and we’ve certainly tried to engage with alumni associations in some of the bigger cities with Cyclone representation. Unfortunately we’ve gotten some push back from a few of those groups that aren’t supportive of NIL. But hopefully the tide has turned some and people are more receptive now. Will reach out again.
I would hope that letter from Pollard would convince those on the fence. Maybe get creative with an endowment type fund.Ever wonder why no one ever just plops down 5 million for NIL? There’s no guarantees, players can take the money and run, and as is tradition, the rich people get the people that think they are rich to pay the bill. Also, they can’t put their name on it.
This is where Pollard has to be careful. He's hitting up these same people for money for the AD. Can't go pissing them off over NIL.I would hope that letter from Pollard would convince those on the fence. Not sure if you can get any more clear than that
It’s not worth diving into the weeds, but I’m going anyway. I’d be really ticked if it was one person at the top in those groups that squashed it instead of the collective opinion of the group.I'm sorry but that's incredibly frustrating and frankly ******* stupid for a group to push back because they aren't supportive of NIL. Jamie has been incredibly helpful for us as much as he is allowed to be. We are definitely on the same team here. We are super lucky to have him at Iowa State. This is where Pollard has to be careful. He's hitting up these same people for money for the AD. Can't go pissing them off over NIL.
You should relay that to Ken Miller. He ******* about Pollard and the AD working with Backpocket on those beers and competing with Ames Lager all the time.Jamie has been incredibly helpful for us as much as he is allowed to be. Ken has issues with Jamie. It doesn’t matter what actions Pollard takesYou should relay that to Ken Miller. He ******* about Pollard and the AD working with Backpocket on those beers and competing with Ames Lager all the time.
You could have ended that sentence thereKen has issues with Jamie. It doesn’t matter what actions Pollard takes
I vote Travis Kelce also has to donate a game check to the We Will Collective as part of his punishment.
Bet should have been get Taylor to wear ISU sweatshirt to his next game. Merch sales to the moon!

Ricky Bobby if you bring home the trophy I will add $500 to your $2,000.How about this - If I win one of my races this weekend I will donate the winnings ($2000).
When people wonder why ISU can never be a national power, I can point them to our huge donor base that gives nothing.
We have rhe lowest percentage of givers vs living alums in the big 12. It is in thos thread somewhere. Is there hard data on this?
Not doubting. Just curious.
Total athletic or collective donation participants over total number of alumni?
The thing about writing big checks like that to ISU Athletics is that there are usually perks that come with it. Like buildings or physical objects with your name on them or access to premium seating and more. If someone dumped a $10 mil check to We Will what do they have as a benefit that can compete with the AD? And that money essential gets used in the shirt term to pay players that are only here 4 or less years where your name where getting your name on something gets recognized and lasts much longer. It's not a given that much money will even result in a conference championship or natty either so you can see why there is hesitantance with dropping a big $ ammount for NIL when the return/benefit is uncertain.No. ISU athletics. The comparison is we have horrible participation figures as compared to our peers on a historical basis in this arena; hence, WW faces an uphill battle. Hell, we had to looks at posts that were small whitepapers on why they wouldn't give.
If someone gives $10 million to We Will or heck even $10,000, trust me the AD is very much aware and that person will be warmly received. The thing about writing big checks like that to ISU Athletics is that there are usually perks that come with it.
