WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Not looking like South Carolina's reign as the new UConn is going to be a very long one. Damn, I thought Mulkey would make LSU a force to be reckoned with but, yikes, she is killing it immediately. Can't really think of another coach who could just change schools and bring her empire with her like that.

Man if they get Morrow it's over.

Morrow would have to embrace fitting into a team with two top stars. Not sure that's her jam. It might be too much of a good thing like some NBA teams that were supposed to be super teams and were not. Difference is top NBA guys can be bigger than their coach and team, not seeing Mulkey letting her gals run the asylum's, at least not on court. Reese didn't get everything she wanted, supposedly to play more outside, but she bought in enough to stay in the paint and she has a natty to show for it.

Would like it more if she went to South Carolina to help go at LSU. The future battles between those schools is going to be nuts.

Perfect fit for the Sith-
Agree - this is a good fit for her.

LSU lost their top guard (Morris) who often had to create for herself, which Van Lith easily step into that role.

Though she is flamboyant and annoying with her sideline antics, Mulkey is a good coach - especially for big ego players. Clearly she knows how to blend talent and win.

She's also got high school standout PG Mikaylah Williams in her 2023 class. Either the #1 or #2 player in the class, Prospect Nation has her at #1 and ESPN has her at #2. And a top rated 6'-5" post.

2 peas in a pod...

HVL probably would have signed with Mulkey at Baylor if she wouldn't have had to live in Waco. (Just kidding, kind of)

Based on those images I believe that the Hawk's Molly Davis (she's in the Lith photo) should return to the court next year wearing pigtails.

There is no “return on investment” in women’s basketball or wrestling.
Disagree
Certainly not as high as football or MBB

Ticket sales (iowa may sell out season tickets)
Apparel
Concessions
Donations
Final four and national championship game $

The sum of these will far exceed the cost to buy a few players - most who do not command big $

This. There's a distinction between athletic department expenditures and NIL in this new era. It ain't the stock market where we want a higher monetary return. For actual companies into NIL agreements they are looking to see if it's worth their money to NIL with a Clark or a Joens but it isn't hardline black and red. There is still a general PR and advertising value.

Ran into a couple Howk season ticket holders yesterday. According to them they are getting no big in the portal and probably no one at all. Me Why? "The Diva"

Spied this Cyclone team alumni news in the paper today. Tara (Gunderson) Seifert has stepped down as WBB coach at Chaska, MN. 49 years of Chaska hoops and she is only their 2nd coach. Point guard on our first NCAA Tournament team in 1997.

Wish I could read it…am sure she’s been successful

I don't know why but I root for KU women's hoops when they're not playing ISU. I like Chandler Prater - she has attitude, style (one leg of tights) and athletic ability, so it's a good thing for us she's leaving KU. While I wouldn't mind it, no way she ends up at ISU...
