WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

We need to do something about the Iowa game next year from a ticket perspective. We technically have a sellout with the wnit double header back in the day. If we have a sellout next year because 40% of crowd is Iowa fans I may vomit in my seat.

Just invalidate/refund tickets just before the game like the Iowa AD did before their men's game with Illinois.

Tara has 3 NCAA titles and 13 Final Fours, along with 27 Pac 12 regular season titles. The screams are drowned out by non-stop cheering!

^Truth. She is turning 70 this summer. She maybe should have retired at 68 after her 2021 championship and gone out on top like a champion but maybe thought she was on the cusp of a run with Brink and other recruits. I have heard she doesn't actually do much these days, lets the school name and her reputation do the recruiting and her assistants run the team. Even some seemingly wild speculation, that I do not discount entirely considering her personality and age, is that she will not retire while Geno is still coaching so he can't pass her wins total.

Van Lith is listed as a "do not contact". She either know where she is going or has her own short list.

Two years left if she wants a 5th. Can't see anywhere but an elite team or home to the west coast. Would be crazy to see Mulkey grab her just to see the heads explode here on CF. Would probably pretty much guarantee LSU in the Final Four again. Only thing is Mulkey has a freshman PG, either #1 or #2 recruit based on the ranker, coming in.

BTW, I think she's going to Indiana and take Grace Bergers spot. Hoosiers are an Adidas school and she has a big NIL with Adidas. Throw in a likely Final Four with this Top 10 team and I don't see another landing spot.

Damn. Just saw Iowa is pausing to try and figure out how to deal with demand for ticket sales next year. I might have to watch Gophers play Rutgers rather than Gophers play Iowa if Hawk fans can't get tickets at home they'll roadtrip to Mpls and hit Mall of America and all of the Mpls bars!
Help me understand this. are the womens tickets on sale now or are they taking requests or how do they know about the demand? should I be ordering my ISU womens tickets now. explain what is going on please.

What if a player has a big Adidas NIL deal and the school recruiting her has a big Nike deal.
My guess is player will only go to school that aligns with their shoe NIL deal. After all, they hope to continue their shoe deal after college as part of their pro marketing deals.

Saw someone claiming she is deciding between UCLA and Colorado. Seems like a reasonable rumor. Obviously no one but a post is going to Hawkese. Unless NIL is worth 5x a scholarship?

What ceases to amaze me over the last few days is all the Iowa fans who the minute they see a high profile transfer in the portal, they want them. This week, they wanted Aneesah Morrow (DePaul), Sedona Prince (Oregon), Lauren Betts (Stanford), and now it's VanLith.

They have fans and Chad out actively promoting dumping current players to bring in transfers because they know everyone is just dying to play with CC. There is the mentality that they are suddenly a top tier program after a Final Four run. Nothing like being a current Iowa player that doesn't play much or was hurt and your fan base wants you gone.

Two of the players (Morrow and VanLith) they want are most likely looking for somewhere to go the be the star, because they are not going to be the star at Iowa. Czinano was the perfect compliment for CC, because she didn't need the spotlight like CC does.

If you bring in two post players, you are telling your current two that played (O'Grady and Stulke) that you are always going to be a role player after we counted on you to help get us to the national championship game. Throw in they have a commitment for a 6-4 post in their 2024 class, so what does that say to her?

Where are the folks who should be screaming for Stanford to fire their coach because of the abuse that caused the players to transfer?

Not to pour gas on the fire but how many of those Stanford transfers started every single game for 3 years while averaging 30+ minutes every game?
