Watching the Presser online...

id idnt catch who it was but, he was a diabetic that apparently didnt get food in himself today with all the coverage going on. he should be fine. luckily it wasnt jamie or gene. it might have been a reporter.

For those that didn't see...

JP said that one of the assistant AD's was diabetic and had a small episode, probably due to lack of food. He should be OK (thank goodness!).

What I liked:

GC is as professional as you can be, and he seemed extremely serious.

What I didn't like:

- Not much humor
- Never said "Go cyclones!"
- No specific answers to key questions unlike Greg M saying he will introduce the concept of defense and bring back the hilton magic.

First impression:

- This man knows what he is capable of
- He knows he won't get away with BS-ing
- He loves small town, and he is full of family values

Overall:

I like him, its about time we hire someone who does LESS TALKING and produce MORE RESULTS.

Tremendous coach, no doubt about it..

I didn't get a great vibe from him... from what I saw, he looked nervous, almost like he wasn't sure what he was doing there. I guess I got spoiled by G-Mac's presser, and it's probably easier to move in-state than it is to move 10+ hours from your home.

It was almost like they were trying to make him say "i will promise a championship by 2008". He knows he has work to do, and he knows it won't be easy. I'm not sure what the reporters were fishing for.

the people asking questions were terrible. gave him no room to make good comments.

I agree. The one asking "What are your short term and long term goals?" was the worst. Sounded like a student reporter to me. What's he supposed to say? Win X number of games next year, win the national title 4 years from now?

Maybe there would have been more/better questions later. It seemed the thing was shortened anyway due to the medical emergency.

GMac, coming from within Iowa and seeing ISU regularly covered in the press, probably had a lot better idea of what the MBB team needed.
