Warrior Dash 2012

31:49, and had fun! Did the 18 minute finisher just skip the obstacles?

There were some steep trails in there...

I know the registration stuff noted that if you skipped obstacles you couldn't "win", but I don't see how they were keeping very good track of people bypassing obstacles.

Seriously steep trails...

I told my wife that I would go her pace. She started walking about halfway in, and I tried running backwards to halfway get more of a challenge out of it/subtly taunt her into actually running. It had to be over 45 minutes for us.

It was pretty cool, and I would do it again at a little lower price (this time at my own pace; I think I could do it in about 34-35 minutes) as the obstacles were a lot of fun, and an interesting change of pace.

My only complaint was all the "production". I didn't need a DJ screaming at me about being a "warrior" for doing a glorified 5K. There was also some kid who was shouting out random motivational cliches as he ran through the course like "GO UNTIL YOU CAN'T GIVE ANY MORE; THEN KEEP GOING". I wanted to trip that *** hole.

I WAS JUST TRYING TO ENCOURAGE MYSELF TO GIVE 110%!

Agree about the DJ.

I had a good time. The starting section at this Iowa one was way too narrow and created a bottleneck, but other than that, good times. No idea what my time was, I didn't look.

Had a blast, didn't expect that much of a hill at the beginning. I hope it comes back next year as I will run it again, as I could have pushed myself a little harder. My time was 28:59, and hope to beat that next year.

Don't know....I ran it in 31:49...but nobody abused me that I know of. DrChiro how'd you do?

Debbie Downer post. My wifes Grandma died Fri unexpectedly so we had to head back to NW Iowa for the weekend and pull out if the Dash. Plan on doing next year.

My brother did it in 32 he said and I know I would have beat him.

Buddy of mine finished in 22:06 and finished 13th out of 7000. That is a 6:36 mile pace with obstacles yet.

CRAZY!!!!
