I just did this in Nebraska on June 9th. I hate running, did basically no training, but I had a BLAST & would definitely recommend it to anyone who gets a chance.

The worst part for me was how hilly the course was. Apparently they went out of their way to find the hilliest ground in Nebraska! They say each course is different, but ours started out with about a mile & a half run mostly uphill.

The obstacles were the funnest part for my group, especially the giant mud pit at the very end. I'd also highly recommend dressing up. I kind of had a Joe Dirt thing going on, & let's just say I got some weird looks & funny cheers.

Just try to go with somebody that will be at your pace. We walked quite a bit of it, & we definitely weren't the only ones. I think our final time was just a few seconds over 49 minutes. Have fun!

I also did the Nebraska Warrior, it was a blast except the first mile was nothing but hills to separate the people that went in each heat. My wife and I didn't take it too seriously and finished in about 45 minutes. It was our first "date" after having our son so we didn't feel like throwing up all over in the 95 degree heat!

We found out later that they really don't care what time you are registered for or run so just go and check in and run when you are ready. We wished we would've known that earlier to avoid running at 4 in the afternoon!!

I have friends who are doing the warrior dash, and have done it before. It is a hurry up and wait type of race. A whole flight of people run to the first obstacle and then stand in line waiting for a while, and then repeat. If you are at the very front, you have a chance to be quick, if not, dont worry about the running too much.

I was hoping for this when I went into the dash, but it wasn't really the case for my group at all. We had 0-30 second wait at pretty much all of the obstacles. Definitely not enough of a rest for my outta shape @ss!

I'm doing it at 10 30. Really have not done any training yet. Looking forward to it.

I'm either doing the 10:30 or 11:30 slot, can't really remember. Just going to try to beat (most of) the heat. I didn't do any training before it last year and it was fine, I think I finished in 44 minutes. The worst part for me was the beginning when everyone is in a huge clump, I just wanted to pass everyone but it was nearly impossible.

Warrior dash isn't even hard. Its only a couple miles with all the obsticles inbetween. I'm signed up for.the 1:30 slot. Tough Mudder is more of a challenge. But I thought that was easy also. Dam to Dam is harder then both cause you don't see out of shape people doing that and there are no breaks.

For some reason Dam to Dam always kicks my ***. I rarely struggle during the des moines half, but often struggle during d2d. Dont know why.

I signed up for Minneapolis shortly before the DM event was added.. As a veteran of many Living History Farms events, I expect it to be a blast.

I'm torn between doing this and Midnight Madness in Ames since they are on the same day. I feel like I'll end up doing MM though, as I've always had a blast there. Unlimited free food and beer afterwards is also hard to pass up

Voted!! I've done two and love them. I'm contemplating the Spartan Beast in Utah. That one looks insane!!

I wanted to do WD in July but am officiating a kids tri that weekend. Bummer.

Yeah, same day as lifetime tri in minneapolis.

I thought about doing the Warrior Dash when it was in Omaha, but never did. A lot of my friends did it and they loved it. If it ever comes this way again, I'll be sure to participate.

While we're on the subject of runs, dashes and what-not...anyone doing the Color Me Rad 5K in CB on July 8th?

Good luck, have fun! I did it in Colorado a few years ago and felt it was a glorified 5k with obstacles, but still very fun. Highly suggest costumes. When you're ready for a whole new challenge, check out Tough Mudder.

I have signed up for the Tough Mudder in Poplar Bluff, MO in October. Can't wait!!

I'm in the 10:30 start. I'm doing the Midwest Super Spartan in October (Chicago area). 9.5 miles with some tougher obstacles...no electrocution...that I'm aware of.

I'm doing the Color Run in Des Moines this October. Looks identical.
